Don't suggest noobs to start the game in STD - FOR REAL

I love standard and i main standard. That being said there is no reason to start a toon in standard - take advantage of league mechanic (always lucrative) and fresh economy and just continue in standard after league ends.

Makes me feel bad seeing how many new players play there and are being suggested to play there; starting the game on a slow, boring & hard mode.

- Half-decent items are on sale at 5x the price while being on sale for a year.
- Common uniques that are 1 alch in leagues are 10 chaos in STD because everyone is too lazy to trade.
- Currency exchanges have 3x bigger trading margins
- Items sell for a fair price in weeks, not hours
- You thought exchanging exalts was bad in league? Try getting a response for a rare item in STD
- You will be earning way less than what you would in leagues due to extra rewards from league mechanics being missing and boss items or influenced bases already being dropped to their lowest possible value
- Underpricing an item won't make you reconsider the price through getting spammed with messages, instead you'll just undersell it due to low player count, which is a problem for noobs

Slightly tangent but the chat also seems more burnt out, whiny and snappy - even more than what you normally see!

All in all, I believe new players should not be playing STD as it's simply way slower, more boring, less active, imbalanced, more frustrating & unrepresentative of what the game really ought to be.

Funny how everything you listed has to do with trade. As if that was the main concern a new player has.

Most likely, someone new to the game is quite lost and trying hard to understand the mechanics. Trade being just one more of those things he needs to figure out.

And in that regard, standard should be less complicated if for nothing else than to avoid a legue mechanic on top of everything else.

Trading is a core part of the game.

Ultimatums are not complicated.

Find a real life friend that play POE and ask free stuff. The game would become easy mode. Standard is the economy of all past leagues and the biggest depository. Trading is a toxic mess, always has been.

you forgot the point here, STD removes any time restraints.

also things like HH are way cheaper.

also i think that you didnt actually try to trade, instead you just stared poe.ninja

Are you even serious?

HH is not cheap in standard.

Just the 3.14 nerf making the league has way less HH.

Also the purchasing power of ex in league and standard cannot be compared

OP you should try playing standard.
I would switch over to Standard except that they haven't given me tools I would need to clean up my stash. Even a simple "delete all in this tab" would work.
My experience actually tells me that the absolute majority of players in standard respond on trade requests where as no one responds in ultimatum. A lot of things appear cheaper in temp league but are simply just listed by people who dont even bother to sell it because they are in a hyperfocused zoom-zoom mode to get rank 12055 on the ladder.

If you want to pursue long-term goals, standard is a much better alternative than league. All league content ends up in standard anyway and currently this league, the offered mechanics are nothing to write home about. Actually I hope they don't add Ultimatum to parent leagues.

You can hide all remove-tabs.
Can't imagine the spam GGG staff would get from the amount of "Oops I deleted my sacred ruby ring by accident" emails they'd get from having a delete button.

"Absolute majority"
and
"No one"
Just LMAO.

Well let me speak your language and say that "literally nobody has ever made a trade on Standard with anyone".

Put the 1 transmute price to 1 chaos in leagues and everyone responds. It's irrelevant if you have to pay 1 chaos instead of 1 alch.
At least you have someone to buy from, in Standard you HAVE to pay 10 chaos for that 1 alch item in leagues.

I agree with that.. League Standard or League SSF.
