" Same people who think that Customer Service Representatives / Artist / Animator / Sound Engineer = Core Engine Developer and can suddenly use their amazing skills at Photoshop CS to fix desync! Or did I miss a memo where funding to the core dev team suddenly got slashed and all of it transferred to the GFX team? Last edited by Lyralei#5969 on Apr 7, 2013, 12:08:13 PM

" You forgot about optimizing this game. Myself and many others can hardly play this game at the higher levels due to the effects, even with good computers. I know they have announced they redid some effects and hopefully it will help. I'm not convinced it will, every update has claimed they made improvements in the area and it hasn't helped at all. I'm the type of person who will play a game for years but I will be leaving if this isn't fixed soon. |

" The point isn't that all ~20-30 members of their development team will be useful in coding out desync and client-side performance issues. I'm not sure if you've ever worked at a small software start-up, but I have. We all wear multiple hats in that environment -- and everyone contributes in many ways to all aspects of the project. The game is not reasonably playable, yet they keep churning out patches and items as though it is. "Hey!! Sorry that you can't survive because of desync, or play with other people because of extreme inefficiencies in our graphics code, but here are more things to spend money on AND more support gems you can't really use anyway!" If/When there was a core design problem that remotely put the product in jeopardy, -EVERYONE- was stuck in a conference room talking about it. " If the problem was as serious as you are making it out to be, we wouldn't have players in the 90's. We certainly wouldn't have so many threads about what a grind PoE is either - because people couldn't be grinding or hitting level 90 if the game was unplayable. It may certainly be unplayable for you, I have no way of knowing that, but it is certainly very playable to a large group of people. This isn't to say the desync and optimization are perfect or even close, that is clearly not the case, but lets not say the house is on fire just because the oven is smoking. " What do u call a "good computer" ? My Good Computer smashes this game no worries..... my budget system handles it at about 80% of max setting. What sort of gear are u running? My Good system- Gigabyte ud7x58 mobo - i7960 cpu @ 3.2ghz -12gb high speed ram -7600rpm 6gb transfer HHD (gonna upgrade to SSD this week, helps load times alot) - 2X asus direct cu gtx 580 vid cards in sli. And this sytem is not that "good" compared to some of the stuff people are playing on..... When all your fears combined, the manifest was refined.
I know you really tried to understand. This is a new way! - Pendulum. |

Knight.. that rig is pretty freaking good man!
I have played the game for over 2 years, my original set up was.. 1st gen I3 @ 2.8ghz 4mb ram Radeon 5770 Ran the game just fine. True I had to turn some things down, and I hardly ever team so I can't speak to how that would have worked, but in terms of solo? Not an issue at all. I would consider that setup pretty low. " Myself and other Radeon users are experiencing big FPS drops in group play. There's a 30 page thread in the Technical Support subsection where GGG acknowledges the issue. |

" I played this game on my rendering workstation with 2xhexacores and 3xSLI Kepler Quadro cards, and I still got huge fps drops in multiplayer with poison clouds/LA, even with GMP/IS totems... it's not an AMD issue. placeholder for creative sig

" 1. The people who are level 90 mitigate their risk of death via desync by playing in groups. So even if/when the time comes for their desync, they have 4-5 other people in the group to ensure their survival. 2. I, myself have a Level 80 Shadow on Hardcore. I was able to solo every difficulty, and then maps to level 80. Does that prove desync isn't a problem? No. All of my latest characters have died to desync. My main hasn't died for one reason - luck. So either I play with a group (which I can't due to frame drops), or I play as much as I can in hardcore and pray I don't desync (which will/does happen eventually), or I play in default league, which has an economy I will not settle for. I don't even know why I come on these forums. I don't play this game anymore... I suppose the forums satisfy the small amount of addiction I have left. I used to be conceited, but now I'm perfect

I'd just like to point out the irony, this thread is right next to a thread complaining that GGG aren't doing anything about the legacy silverbranch.
Its ironic because it would take a lot of resources for them to be able to change the silverbranch +2 to +1 for ALL existing silverbranches, yet people are arguing viciously for them to do this and demonising them for not. Then there is this thread where they are saying "You should be spending your time better". Can't stop laughing |
