GGG, Please stop misallocating your resources. Prioritize the game-breaking problems.
Plea
Races, Microtransaction Goodies, Re-Balancing of mechanics are all worthwhile endeavours - But I would argue that these are a misappropriation of resources. Granted, not everyone can fill every role, but you have game-breaking problems that need 100% of your attention. As of now, there are two problems that need to be fixed with the same urgency as account security was. 1. Server <-> Client desynchronization and lag. 2. The array of client-side performance issues plaguing the game - from the ATI card debacle, to the vast FPS drops in multiplayer (it's unplayable for me, on a 1 year old $2500 machine). If I were your CEO, I would ensure not a single new patch is released nor a single new microtransaction (I realize this is your source of income) feature/item until these problems have been addressed. About me: GGG, I am a near-perfect candidate for your target demographic. I think POE is probably in my Top 10 games of all time. I am a hardcore gamer, financially secure, and willing to throw my money at a quality product (Probably ~$1,000 spent on WoW from 2005-2010, not including subscriptions) If you can lose me to these game breaking problems - you can lose a lot more, a lot easier. > misallocating your resources
where and when did they misallocate their core developer ressources in the past? @please read the post before replying o.O just for clarification: you posted some non-issues with accusations against the devs, i asked where they misallocated their ressources, then you replied "i don't care" and deleted your first post. now you edited both posts and then telling me i can't read? thank you very much. teaches me to always make a full quote although i hate having redundant info to read all the time. but it seems neccessary so people don't think i'm talking with myself here. offline Last edited by cronus#1461 on Apr 5, 2013, 11:51:02 AM

i still think you care, otherwise you wouldn't complain.
desync is an issue, it has a certain dev priority but not the highest as it's not easy to fix in a few days. same to the rmt advertizers, you can start a race to prevent them but you will never win. ggg still needs to find a way to make rmt sites unattractive. @misalocating: fixing the random disconnects and getting the accounts secure was far more important than desync in the past as well as buffing melee which will come in the next patch. these new gems are amazing :) offline Last edited by cronus#1461 on Apr 3, 2013, 4:57:09 AM

" My love for this game is a solid 10. Thats why I complain, because its so frustrating to have such an amazing game so utterly broken at the most fundamental level. Whats more concerning is, if they can lose me as a player ($70-80 in Microtransactions, and a fairly hardcore player) -- they will lose more a lot easier than they did me. Oh well.. ciao I used to be conceited, but now I'm perfect

" Well the crux of the thing is, its also the one of the most gamebreaking issues the game has I mean, PoE does have other gamebreaking issues, especially in the gameplay/balance department, and we havn't seen GGG fix these issues at all (which have been around for months), apart from very slight number tweaks, which rarely change anything |

If money got software done better and faster then Microsoft would have a better OS than something that's free.

" Microsofts OS is far superior than many others in a lot of fronts, including backwards compatibility, hardware interpotarbility, enterprise features and in the graphics department (directX, design wise and architecturally speaking is massively ahead of things like opengl) I am btw looking at this objectively, I personally have a mac, 2 linux systems (both archlinux) and 2 windows systems. I assume you were comparing it to linux, but the fact that every linux desktop system either breaks on every major update (ubuntu) and if it doens't break, it requires intermediate computer knowledge to upgrade (gentoo/arch) |

A typical "I know how to develop a game!" thread.
First of all, it's their game so they get to make it however they want. Ofcourse they want you to keep playing so they will put the resources where they think it is necessary. Fixing desync is not an easy feat and having 50 or 5 people on it will only keep it a disaster. You need the right people with the right abilities on the job. One person can result in a better netcode then 50. Just look at the fighting game netcode. So stop thinking you know better or think you deserve it. You dont. Sit back, relax and let them do their thing. It's BETA, that means you are TESTING. Stop demanding shit as if you bought a 60 euro game. If you paid, you did so volutarily. |

comparing desync with other issues the game had i still think it's minor to problems like account security, disconnects every 5 minutes and whole instance crashes every hour.
and all these issues got fixed in a good time frame. desync is not game breaking once you realized that playing hardcore is not worth the hassle until they improved the netcode. offline
