Could GGG, Shopify, and Zizaran be prosecuted?

Should every Olympic sponsor and the committee be sued because every year thousands of athletes suffer body injuries and now and then a few die as result of their extreme training routine?

For fuck's sake, the game is rated M. If your child is playing PoE at all you are already in the wrong, to say nothing of them playing for many days without any sort of pause to sleep.
the amount of people getting baited by such low effort trolls are staggering.
guess its end of league boredom?
I do not think GGG etc should be procecuted, but OP does have a point that this competition encourage unhealthy & protential fatal results. People have died from overplaying without sleep.

Whatever happened to self-responsibility and self-control.... or even proper parenting?

Then again it's another one of Kopo's low effort bait threads so I'll save my time.

I'm still waiting for the conversation to turn onto those evil energy drink companies. There are lots of things people want to stay up for an unhealthy amount of time doing, but as OP said it's only possible because of the sinister energy drink conglomerate. Someone needs to do something. We need to do something. Rise up!

no, he doesn't have a point. competition and your own drive to win is what would result in you making bad decisions 'to do anything' to win. that has nothing to do with the race and has everything to do with you.

should no races, should no competition, ever exist in the world because some people are willing to do harmful things to get ahead for a better chance at winning?

the sad thing is, as i've said above, is that - while yes this is a troll and a bait - there are actual people that believe things like this and legitimately see it as a problem.

if every example of this sort of thing was this massive problem then every single person would be living in a bubble supervised by government. hey man, if you want to live that way, be my guest.

life is a scary thing. there are scary terrible things that can happen at the drop of a hat around every single corner. if you're so petrified to go outside because of the worlds and lifes dangers, thats your decision. your choice. but YOU are responsible for your own safety. period.

Context matters. Most competitions/race do not required you to harm yourself to win.Of course people can go too far to train for something, but its not part of the competition.

but when a competition that actively encourage things that is harmful, its another thing. I would say same about eating contest, hold your pee contest, how long you can go without food, or sleep.

you're right! they don't "require" you to harm yourself. that is YOUR CHOICE if you choose to push yourself to the point of harm!

guess what? same with this competition.

it also is not actively encouraging anything. that is YOUR take on it. thats your conclusion, because you think you don't have a chance to win otherwise.
well so sorry for you. but again that has nothing to do with the spirit a race
I wonder did Kopogero ever play the game? At least i can't saw his character tab but i already knew by 0/40, an indicator that he don't play league

There is a good reason why every food product has a label stating a detailed info on the ingredients, the day it was made as well as the expiration day, which by the way most choose to trust in, since most also don't know how long certain products can last before they're damaging to their health.

Parents deserve for their children to be better informed and protected with the same information. Children also do not think and act like adults, often hiding things from their parents, like they would pretend they would go to bed, but then go back to playing a game as example, not being fully aware of the harm that could be causing, again if they weren't fortunate to receive the information, information which by law should be AVAILABLE.

Despite how much lobbying the tobacco industry put, still at the end no amount of $ brought back the victims, which why they end up being sued by billions and then forced to label graphic images on their products as well how smoking is harmful to the health.

GGG, Shopify, and Zizaran have responsibility to INFORM the community of the health risks and complications for skipping sleep for many days or not sleeping at all. Many individuals these days follow streamers who log 24-36 hours without sleeping (particularly in this game), and then believe it's alright to do the same, especially the younger ones.

If it was my child that wasn't sleeping for days, because some promoter/company/organizer lured it to compete in some special event for a chance at a big prize (while I was believing that my child is sleeping at nights), and then days later to find my child collapsed on the floor, guess what I would do to those who were responsible, and in the position to inform/warn my child of the health risks, yet "purposely" failed (didn't care).

Anyone who has no ETHICAL/MORAL (call it w/e) conscience to do the right thing, and usually those who only care about profits (money) regardless what lives they might ruin in the process deserve a harsh justice. I'm not here to impose how somebody should live their lives, but to raise awareness that we all have a responsibility, especially those who are organizing/promoting such events, those who are in the position to warn/inform. It's not possible for a parent to always be on top with every single thing their child is doing. We all want to protect our children the best we can with the knowledge we have, but the responsibility is not all on the parent.

Not sleeping or barely getting any sleep has been proven to be a significant factor to win the biggest prize multiple times now in these type of events. Finally, not all have the same endurance or body to endure such marathons. Some might also be unaware of how to achieve what they see others are doing and in the process cause severe harm to their health. So, again those who are responsible to promote events that can endanger the health of others at least must notify/inform the public (participants), so they aren't liable/responsible for whatever follows afterwards, and that's the minimum what they can and should do.

Which players have you seen do this for such extended periods, that are actually children? Surely with all of this posting, you have examples right? Names, screen-names, character names, etc? Anything?

I am not saying it doesnt happen, it surely does. However, I am not going to an extreme example, such as the death of a child by video game either.

By the way, just a tip for a non-parent : You want to know what gets under a parents skin the fastest (though I am sure getting under other's skin is the whole point)? It isn't game company failing to state, "Hey genius, go to bed", it trying to have a conversation with a person that does not have kids, about having kids and how they know better.

Next post will be, "Well, I mean, I have a dog..."
