Could GGG, Shopify, and Zizaran be prosecuted?

@MarloStanfield, exactly...

No other parties in this industry in the recent years (that I've been aware of) have been involved in promoting what these parties have been, and without a labelled warning of the dangers and health risks associated with one of the requirements to win the advertised large prize in such an event. I care less about what could/would happen to Shopify or Zizaran, but I do care about GGG since there's already a significant evidence of their direct involvement with them to promote/sponsor, and organize this type of event.

Further, I'm worried and why I'm making this thread, because this apparently will continue. Zizaran has announced multiple times recently how he intends to continue promoting and organizing this specific event. The game being rated M for mature means very little since I've seen the age of some who've been streaming this event, which further makes me worried since the parents aren't fully aware of what their child could be encouraged to do, especially if it sees popular streamers not sleeping for 24+ hours. What we're seeing with this particular event is something that most other games do not feature and promote, especially with big cash prizes, which is why there must be more to be done, like a labelled warning for this event, than just the game being rated M.

I know for a fact most parents aren't aware, but they would like to be if their child is playing a game that features/promotes a chance to win thousands of $, but the requirement or should I say what it takes to significantly increase the chance to win is to barely get any sleep for many days or no sleep at all with the help of things like energy drinks.

Failure of parents to "monitor / control" their child is legaly 100% their problem. It can never be a 3 party's problem.

If you are this worried, you should contact the proper authority in NZ to have them look into this.....
So... As I'm not the most avid gamer of this generation I have trouble in understand the point of this discussion.

Is the op the gamer hero we need and dont deserve? Is he able to save the next generation of avid gamers from its impending doom? Is he just salty cause nobody take him seriously? Am I getting too deep, drunk and bored?

One thing is certain. This is pure gold. Carry on
they could, but they won't be as if you open that can of worms they'd be about # 2019192929103492299th on the list of violations.

I'd love a time limited gauntlet but i enjoy the regular one anyway *shrugs*

God knows I agree here, but I stay the hell away from my other two examples too; Pringles and McDonald's. I was trying to be international. Don't think dear OP would know what I was talking about, if I used Leffe or Snoop Hopp as examples.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Actually, THE problem is the SAME winners won the prizes every time. They are well known racers who are made for it. It gets old quickly.

I'm sorta in the middle on these issues. Ethically GGG should limit game time to 8 hrs but not legally. Ethically GGG shouldn't do mystery boxes but not legally barred. So many things like this like I wouldnt own a bar because alcohol is poison but don't think they should be banned.

No. Ask me a hard one.

They make a product. If it's used reasonably, it's not a problem... and "reasonably" is a legal standard. You're citing examples of unreasonable use. By that standard, staplers should be outlawed. I can come up with some pretty unreasonable uses for a stapler.

I think you mean morally, rather than ethically. As far as I know, there isn't some code of ethics that game developers subscribe to or agree to follow.

I also hate myself for posting in one of these threads.
Thanks for all the fish!
