GGG now bans streamers for fake fotoshopped images

Weird shit happens. Waiting for excuse from GGG [Removed by Support]

i really dont care about keeping or nerfing harvest, i dont care about GGG making decisions to the game that i disagree, this game is the greatest game i have played in last 10 years and GGG probably is one of the best gaming companies i had the pleasure to support.

but this time, i have no words. i cant see this case with something different from boycotting someone who are not into your decisions.

that's the first time i feel REALLY disappointed about what happened, my heart wants to believe its a misunderstanding.

But at some point he induced people for doing these things? Because its a really important statement here.

Another importantant fact is that GGG itself gave the screenshots as a reason for the suspension. This fact alone refute your argument about him getting banned from a 'sum of factors' including his community actions.

Were does it say that this screenshot is the reason? He is making the claim that it is but do we actually know?

He literally tweeted that an SS of GGG of an email saying to his community literally actually did keep sending Rob hate mail that was the reason he got locked in addition to the screen shots but they already knew the SS's were fake.

He was locked because of his community being loud as he is like stop the more you talk about it the worst it gets LOL.

Sequence of events from what I can tell:

- Matth gets a suspension in Septemberish (sometime in Harvest) for advertising giveaways

- The rules are a little murky and Matth thinks his suspension was unjustified so he posts his suspension letter from the GGG employee on his Discord

- The real posts after this were the ones where he was musing about character names for Heist such as "[Employee]StoleMyHeist" etc. The fake posts that someone made to make him look bad were ones saying "hey let's attack [Employee] and get them fired."

- It appears to be sort of a running meme in the Discord that whenever something bad happens, [Employee] did it. Someone posted a bunch of screenshots on Twitter but there was nothing noteworthy in the "100+ mentions of [Employee]" that were claimed.

- Nevertheless, sometime between Harvest and now GGG claims that [Employee] was receiving harassing emails. Since there's no reason for this to be happening to a random support employee GGG surmised that Matth's fans got this person's email from Matth's Discord and began emailing [Employee] to defend their favored streamer's honor. That's why he was suspended, not the fake Discord messages that someone made.

I think the suspension might have been valid to set a precedent that it's not ok to post unredacted support emails if you're an eceleb. You do have a bit of responsibility because you manage a community of idiots. You do not control the actions of others so ultimately Matth is correct but he's not 100% correct.

The fact that Chris Wilson himself had to personally intervene to save his account from permaban is a little scary though. What Matth himself did wasn't that bad. He never called for contact or harassment. There's also the fact that this happened 6 months ago. If it was REALLY that bad GGG would've known exactly what the cause was much earlier and acted on it. Someone is sending THREATS and you don't search for a root cause or report to authorities?

Going back there seems to be a lot of yummy drama about why people dislike Matth. He got beat to a craft by Empy's group and raged about it and called Empy ugly (lol.) He possibly claimed an item craft as his own when he only crafted part of it (or just divined it or something I couldn't tell.) His obnoxiousness seemed to cause a bunch of drama with TFT. He called out the top lab runners for being cheaters repeatedly and they continue to taunt him on Reddit to this day. His drama with Ziz and Matth saying Ziz has never crafted in his life and wasted his time writing an essay about him. Matth telling Karv that he made 15 mirrors in 2 weeks so he's right about Harvest and Karv laughing at him. Matth being banned from Reddit and having at least 2 alt accounts where he would continue arguing his position, at least one of which where he referred to himself in the third person in cringe fashion. Very entertaining to go back and sift through it.

TL;DR Matth did something wrong but it wasn't that bad. Maybe a suspension was justified, maybe it wasn't. Delicious drama mmmmmmmmmm more please. I love it.

I just want to remark that GGG had put in a ban on streamers doing giveaways some years ago because they recognize it as a form of RMT. Giveaways = viewer engagement which results in income for the streamer.

Yeah now some streamers "sell" headhunters for 1 silver coin or 2 perandus coins... And yes it is rmt cause lots of people only see the stream in hope of getting free stuff.

Celebrities / Leaders in general aren't responsible for what their fans / followers do, unless they themselves egged them on to doing it. How are you supposed to control what other people do of their own volition? He didn't tell anyone to harass anyone else, so why is he being held responsible for that?
