GGG now bans streamers for fake fotoshopped images
" It is not as relevant today because i think he sold his share to tencent. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/80ga51/aaron_ciccheli_who_owns_75_of_ggg_owns_two_rmt/duve7b6/ Chris does respond in said thread with this:
Spoiler
Aaron has no power or say in anything we do. Those sites stopped selling PoE items some time ago and the advice he has given us has helped a lot in our ongoing fight against RMT. I'm aware that it looks bad, but the goal was to improve PoE by getting the right expertise on board. We wouldn't have taken his investment unless we were sure it would achieve this goal.
Edit: I'm pretty sure he doesn't own those sites any more, either. His name is still on the domain registration but he says he sold them earlier this year. I'm not going all tin foil on this one, just saying that i find it quite strange to be so strict on streamer giveaways (but tbh i like that stance but would hate it as streamer, i do stream other games and giveaways are simply big part of getting subs as male streamer) I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! | |
" Yeah they had a group (15?) of small shareholders that all got bought out. Only Chris, Jonathon and Erik own a share now. We tested it extensively

" What are you talking about? Chris intervening is actually a great thing, shows his true values of a developer and integrity he values in players. Not being sarcastic either. If I was getting the run around by little devs, I'd want the lead dev to take action and rectify the situation. I understand Chris needs to show he values his employees, this one in particular is annoyed with dumbasses emailing him and honestly this person is probably dealing with other issues be it personally or professionally and using PoM to deflect that issue to this.
My advice as I worked in blizzard customer support for 2 years in Austin is this. When emailing customers / player base use a different email to hide your real life names. My blizzard email for internal communication was my 1st name initial and last name. The email I had to communicate with the player base via email and also in game was Padoix@blizzard.com and thankfully no person on this planet could ever put my real life identity onto this fake name. Just a bit of advice to help your employees. Given this, you’re still very very wrong in this suspension. He has the right to defend his name from defamation, the fallout of people harassing your employee isn’t his fault, but more importantly is yours as you allow ( force since there isn’t another option? ) your employees to use their real life identities. disgusting decision from ggg punishing someone for something they didn't do.

Somehow, PoM has convinced a bunch of idiots that the reason for the ban was fake discord screenshots - rather than the evidence that clearly showcases him inciting hatred toward specific GGG employees for months on his discord.
I don't think that such behaviour is acceptable, and a ban does not seem unreasonable under the circumstances. " It may surprise you, but you can defend your name without inciting hatred toward specific GGG employees. Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Mar 17, 2021, 2:23:19 AM

My only stand in this fiasco is,
If you decide to ban/suspend someone. Provide the reason to do so. Then only we can decide if it's fair or not, if true. What we are discussing now are all speculation. This should be the minimum requirement. Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Mar 17, 2021, 3:34:17 AM

Just finished watching Matth's video and I read the rebuttal manifesto from the Reddit/Twitter poster. The situation is pretty clear now.
Matth was being a dbag to the guy who got his account locked back in Harvest and Matth Googled the guy's username and found a picture of him which he shared either on Discord or his stream. Yes, it's public account information and it's not technically doxxing but it's a spiteful thing to do to a non-public figure. That straddles the line of harassment in my book and is way worse than the original charge. That guy was pissed and emailed GGG and said that Matth's community was sending him death threats (probably a gross exaggeration but we'll never know), GGG saw that as a pattern of toxic behavior from Matth's community when combined with whatever emails the GGG employee was getting and said enough. It looked like the GGG emails in Matth's Discord were from support@ggg and not [employee]@ggg so someone must have been messaging the generic support email with mean things about the employee in question. Matth gets a pass on that one from me if that's the case. The manifesto by the guy who got Matth's account locked was weak. He's desperately trying to paint a picture of Matth harassing GGG because GGG told him that the harassment against himself wasn't their problem because it was on Discord and not their servers. Pretending someone is "inciting hatred for months" is just silly as he never did that. He has a right to be mad at Matth but the claim of harassment of GGG is just an exaggerated nothingburger. IMO Matth should've redacted the Reddit/Twitter guy's username and not said the GGG employee's name again. That just makes you look bad to people who already have a negative opinion about you. Dumb dumb dumb. I would take the under bet all day long that he'll be permabanned before the end of 3.15. So much heat and hostility and people will be combing through everything he ever writes or says for the rest of the his time in PoE. Sort of a shame because there's no other streamer drama in PoE to follow. No one else is willing to call out the lab runners either and they seem like truly nasty people. Oh well I had fun following the drama while it lasted. Matth should do fine as a content creator for Last Epoch/Diablo IV after he gets banned. |

All I really see is a whole lot of stupid from all parties involved.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" So you think its acceptable for a streamer to say "fuck <insert GGG employee>", and "<alright boys, all the hate for <insert GGG employee name> is now directed at <insert GGG employee name>?" This is some r/The_Donald level of delusion. This type of behaviour is not accepted on any other platform. Engaging in any sort of similar would get you banned on platforms like Twitch. You don't need to literally instruct your viewers/followers to do something for it to count as inciting hatred, the bar is not that fucking low. I guarantee you that Empyrean would immediately ban and stamped out any of that shit from anything that he has control over, e.g. his Twitch channel. Even when he was banned a while back on POE, he removed the name of the GGG employee that he was corresponding with. Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Mar 17, 2021, 4:16:33 AM
