I literally can't believe how some of this people in this thread dare to actually complain(for once used this word is being used right in this forum this is how you use it) for the price when you have sets for over $80 bucks.
and the infamous hideouts for almost $20 when they are basically in game boss arena places. I guess I should have expected it. I can imagine the same thing will happen with D4 when it also will charge for microtransactions along with the base game being on p2p. After all for $40-60 you're actually getting the entire game and it "might" work better than poe servers/client the first month of any league. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

It's funny because all they have to do with D2R is exactly what VV has said they'll do;
Same exact game engine, brand new high fps 3d graphics and lighting And with that new 3d models (ground / equipped) for every unique Offline play Mod support Expanded stash Shared stash *some* bug fixes that just sucked (invisible enemy spells) Not removing the old D2 from the store Letting you choose between ladder / non ladder / LoD / Original While I'm huge on the mod support considering the VAST amount people have been able to add to D2 already with PoD / PD / MXL ect, I'm hoping they go further with letting modders in. Hell we'll already be separated offline / online so there's no reason not to. And the only thing that has be nervous is that it's Blizzard. Yes VV is doing the remaster, thank god, and considering we have them saying all this will be in, I *think we're safe*, but man, I just KNOW Blizzard wants to screw with it somehow. It's just in their blood. |

I know the PoE forums are not exactly the place to go for some non-biased Diablo feedback, but holy shit. The amount of people that will buy and play the Remastered will shatter any PoE player counts. PoE is a niche game, it's not enjoyed by millions. A few hundred thousand play in spurts. The Diablo franchise is in the Multi-Millions. And as far as a cash grab.... lmfao, PoE charges the same for two fucking quad tabs...please give me a break. PoE's pricing is fucking absurd, there is no debate about it. How people drop hundreds or thousands on PoE, and then try to bitch about $40-60 is nothing short of hilarious. $40 means nothing to me for the amount of nostalgia and time I will put in. " It not a question of numbers , its a question of longevity and reputation. d2 has a very finite amount of content. And has remained popular in the industry because for most of its 20 years of existence .. it had no competition. you either played diablo or you did not really play an arpg. Now of course there were some notable arpgs along the way but .. not many. its why diablo 3 was so anticipated .. people were waiting a decade for blizzard to show the world how to do it right again. I doubt a new paint job is going to make baal or mephisto runs any more interesting than they are now. People will play out of nostalgia .. frankly that's is pretty much all that has been keeping the current blizzard going anyway recently. But most wont stay long. because for most people d2 remastered .. is the same game they have already played the crap out of. As for you comments about pricing. Sure poe's prices are extreme. how many expansions has poe had? 32 i think? how many did d2 have ... 1 considering you can drop about 60 on poe and get all the important tabs squared away im thinking that 60 goes farther in poe. in the end its not about 40 dollars being to expensive. its 40 dollars for a game i have 3 copies of and 6000 hours in already. Do i need to play it again? probably not ... do i want to pay 40 dollars just to play it again ... ehhhh 2021 is already full of good games to play. Hope you enjoy those 4k baal and mephisto runs for thousands of hours. I know I won't. Enjoyed them already and not looking forward to it again. I'd rather buy more supporter packs and support some real developers. |

From what I saw they are deliberately trying to keep the game as close to the original as possible. would that not implicitly mean .. no new content of substance? just bug fixes and the like besides this is blizzard .. the dudes who fucked up one of the most important games in their most important franchise diablo is not even their game, it was blizzard norths game until they canned them. heck the fact that they out sourced this to someone else is pretty sad. That being said, given the state of reforged .. maybe its good that this reskin is devoid of their loving touch... |

They LITERALLY said all they did was put a filter on it by merging it with the original game lol and they want it like that.
