Constant crashes with no bug messages 3.13.1

Removing kb4598242 did it (probably)!
Crashed every few Minutes before.

Maybe It`s not just GGGs fault here. But maybe they should patch their older testing rigs more frequently :)

Tried gamefile check, deleting cache folders, DX11 / Vulcan...
Also I didn't happen to crash without engine Multi-threading, I could not bare playing for long and have a feeling this might just make crashes rarer.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700, NVIDIA 1060

EDIT:
Also, and this should be obvious, unstalling security updates is never a good Idea... Yet at the moment for me it seems worth the risk to delay it until this is fixed. This could obviously be coincidence but I doubt it, as I only made this one change between crashing every 5-15 minutes and not at all for 4 hours now.

In addition there seems to be mention of this particular update in other contexts related to NVIDIA GPUs:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/kyxchy/nvlddmkm_crashing_since_this_week/

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-10/kb4598242-kb4598229-bsod-crash-with-critical-process-died-errors/m-p/2071663

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/427727/gpu-is-not-responding/?commentPage=11

Yet here it seemed ZEN 1 related. Well complicated system is complicated... Let the people figure it out who get paid for it.

But to anyone saying this does not help at all, there are many reasons for crashes and this helped a convincing amount of people who tried it (and uninstallig a windows update requires you to click on the small text or use the terminal. I value feedback from users who are able to do this more than the average).

I delayed my Win 10 updates for 7 Days and hope that has been it for me and this issue.

Also Ryzen 5 1600 and Ryzen 7 1700 - Nvidia 1080 on both systems.

Removing Windows Update kb4598242 fixed it for me!

As i already said this one fixed it for me.

I updated nvidia drivers - still crashing
update sound drivers - still crashing
enabled GPU scheduling - still crashing
new install of PoE - still crashing
Defrag GGPK - still crashing - but not as often
Packcheck after Defrag - still crashing - even lass crashing than above
Uninstall Windows Update KB4598242 - FIXED

Running on Vulkan and DirectX

Same setup as above - removing that update helped ( make sure to reset the pc )
Worst part is there are no indications of this issue is being reviewed by GGG. I am reinstalling the game for the 3rd time now, my setup is ryzen 1800x + 1080ti and i guess its related to ryzen 1st gen.

Ryzen first gen here.

Early reports here since I tried the GPU accelaration and that seemed to work, until it started crashing again. But I've gone ahead and turned off SMT, and I've been running fine for a few hours now.

Tried turning SMT (Simultaneous Multithreading) off in Ryzen master first, but Ryzen master still reported it being on after the restart, so had to go into BIOS to outright disable it.

Extremely silly we've gotta troubleshoot this ourselfs and take steps to fix it inside our BIOS. There's complete silence on GGG's behalf about this, considering it worked fine for us before this last patch hit.

If I start crashing again, I'm exhausted trying to fix it.

You should disable multithreading in game, not on the CPU itself. This worked for me and alot of other people with first gen Ryzen.
I'm actually thinking of getting a new CPU, since the linux bug also still persists. People on reddit say that you can still RMA a first gen Ryzen directly with AMD, so idk maybe that's worth a shot...

it was op-cache problem (and I think this crashes too). not smt and was patched with bios updates..
Im fine now with 1600x after disabling op-c

It's not a first gen issue. I have a 3600x and I'm getting random crashes, 3 times in the past 30 minutes.
1st gen Ryzen here with 32GB ram and GTX1050 TI (4GB Vram), drivers up to date.

I had more frequent CDT since 3.13 dropped but it was limited to 2-3 crashes per 4-5 hours of gameplay.

Since recent patch after i played like 2 hours i got constant crashes after about 2 minutes of gameplay. Nothing in the list below helped:

-Deleting shader caches
-Using nosound + nopreload loading options
-PackCheck
-deleting all POE sub folders in my Documents
-activating/deactivating reverb

In regards of crashes:

- No error messages in log files
- Last server instance before crash has no packet loss when pinged with WinMTR
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks

Can you please try deleting the DailyDealCache, MOTDCache and ShopImages subfolders from the "Documents\My Games\Path of Exile" folder and let us know if this issue persists?

Alright so I am in the same boat as other people, constant crashes. Unplayable. I found this suggestion as a fix, and after doing so am still crashing.

I've reinstalled the game, verified files, tried about every options combo I can think of in game, tried DX11 vs Vulkan. Deleted suggested folders. All my hardware drivers are up to date. Tried all the special launch options. I've even tried disabling multithreading in my BIOS...

I'm becoming very frustrated as I've learned this was due to an official patch from you guys, that changed how rendering works within the game. I didn't need this fix? My game ran fine before said changes were pushed.

I've played past 3 leagues without issue... to the point that when I came back this league I was in good spirits about GGG and PoE as a game. So I spent money on MTX. Here I am unable to play the game, after giving you guys over $100.

The only issue I've ever had before this, was the one at Heist launch where the world wouldn't render properly. But you guys pushed a fix on that ASAP, within hours.

Please. Give people in this boat an option to revert these rendering changes that are clearly not helping everyone.

I'm not gonna bash you guys at GGG. You've done an amazing thing developing PoE to what it is. Clearly some mistake was made here, and I'm giving benefit of the doubt to it all. I doubt you guys are intentionally breaking the game. Other people bashing you are just rediculous... but you gotta come down to our level as the customer. Yes the game is free, but it's no secret you gain a lot of funding through the MTX shop. As an MTX purchaser, I feel like I am owed some sort of quality assurance here.

You have my respect, but I am disappointed right now. This has been an issue for almost 3 days now.

i disabled the SMT in BIOS, it worked i had no crash even after hours playing. But the perfomance seems a little lower.I am not so happy with this result but until its fixed from the technical team i can play like that at least.

There are always problems with AMD users, not sure why really. i am disappointed more as many other people because weekend is here and when i have,2 days per week, time to play we have this problem.

I guess complaining wont do anything. I will still support u as i do the past 5 years. There are always bad periods so its ok.
This is getting ridiculous.
At very least they could roll back to previous stable version until problem is identified and fixed.
