Delaying 3.13 due to Cyberpunk 2077
" "Mind your own business", says someone posting on a forum? Really? I'm responding to your posts. If you don't like that, then don't post or don't respond, up to you. I'm aware that I have done nothing special, and I have stated that it was obvious as to why they delayed the league. What is brilliant, is that depsite Chris making it crystal fucking clear in his new post, you still don't get it. Just because twitch viewership was a factor, does not mean it was the only reason the league was delayed. Less viewership on stream also means less people playing the game and less revenue for GGG, there are a number of factors here which all impact GGG's bottom line - or to use Chris' own words, they would be fucked. Edit: I will add here, that streamers are the ones getting fucked with the delay as well..so I'm not sure what your point is? They would be fucked either way. I'm just going to quote you again so that people get a good understanding of the quality of your posts. " Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Oct 29, 2020, 11:39:35 PM

" Turns out I'm right. GGG doesn't want to have another Battleborn to happen with 3.13 coming out around the same time. Easier to delay than to be an eclipsed by a game that's been hyped to hell. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

IMHO, it's not even the delay due to "chickening out" and making cold business assumption without having enough faith in their own product, but the way they choose to manage said bonus time: your game is breaking at seams LITERALLY, yet you want to ACCELERATE that further by focusing on developing faster the next 3.14 league instead of taking said time to actually FIX and/or polish the 3.13 content...
This will not bode well if the next league released in the middle of January probably won't work akin to the last 3 years of leagues after the initial month post launch, heck, any sane person would expect a closer to "seamless" experience by having that league work as good as the last patches hit around the 2 month in league mark, because THEY HAD THE TIME TO WORK ON IT and RELEASE IT PROPERLY for a change... If 3.13 league won't be working "as intended" from the start, especially from a technical performance standpoint (which degraded recently), not to mention the missing QC, I'm not going to have any hope that PoE 2 is at least "decent"... As I said before "actions speak louder than words", to quote Chris... It's time to see PoE improve NOTICEABLY for a change... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"... Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... Last edited by sofocle10000#6408 on Oct 30, 2020, 3:52:26 AM

" You okay mate? |

" You might have not been around as long as some of are, so you might have missed a time when PoE had less emphasis on bugs, and technical problems (the golden age was after desync was fixed with the introduction of lockstep, with a noticeable time for the beta Vulkan implementation that "just worked"), broken balance, abuse of items/mechanics/skills and/or interactions, there really were a few moments when actually PoE was impressive. These days, TencentGGG are really time constrained, and are cutting too many corners for PoE to provide the "best experience" that we should expect out of it. So yes, I'm as okay as any harsh critique without "rose tainted" glasses should be when seeing PoE... " Even Chris had to admit to that one in an announcement some time ago regarding future league development after Heist, following how badly that launched. From the sounds of it, they tend to cram new things into the project as they work, resulting in the quality being affected. That being said, don't expect as big an update in 3.13 in terms of things being added or changed. This should hopefully mean a smoother launch. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. " Post history is your friend, my friend. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

It's okay, some of the first "lovers" of arpgs are usually the most loyalist and blind ones, that's pure love.. nothing wrong with it, in time.. they might open their eyes or not.
Probably my last "contribution" to this thread since as we (some people that were legit speculating here and in other GD threads) already found out why this happened. Don't make it personal if you enjoy the game too much, nothing lasts forever. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Poe 0.2/10 Returning to poe in 3.27: ATROCIOUS game performance, 5/10 league and I apprently missed the loot back in the last league. The more things change the more they stay the same.. |

" it's not about "opening one's eyes", it's about permanent evaluation of what you get for the money you spent. cyberpunk looks like grand theft auto on drugs. it looks flashy and cool but if poe attracted the playerbase that looks out for "flashy and cool without gameplay depth and longtime engagement", maybe poe attracted the wrong player base. chris comparing the start of a arpg like wow classic to the start of a "hipster, gangsta, flash animation thingie" is just ... his decicion one don't have to agree with. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! " Yes, but liking ARPGs doesn't mean that's all you play. PoE is my most played game on steam, but it's followed behind by Warframe, Stellaris, and Rimworld. That being said, a hyped game like Cyberpunk is going to attract PoE players just like a hero shooter Overwatch did when it eclipsed an FPS MOBA like Battleborn. Since GGG's favorability by its shareholders is most likely based on how many players are playing the game when a league launches, it's dangerous to have very few people engaged. This is a tactical decision made to keep their daddy Tencent happy. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
