Path of Exile vs Diablo 3

I see. Well, blizzard did say they lowered act 1 inferno's difficulty. I might tune into the stream to see how they're doing.

Regarding the thread about PoE graphics being superior to the ones of DIII.
The reason why DIII's graphics are worse is the same as to why WoW's are the same. And this reason is so that more people can play the game. Not everyone has a good and new computer. And I have to say that I'm really disappointed with how DIII turned out to be - it's not dark at all, it's so cartoony, bright, childish, easy and noob friendly. I see severed and halfway dissolved corpses in PoE and the scariest things in DIII are spiderwebs. This is such a joke, in terms of appearance, it's nothing like the previous two games, same goes for game play - it's so easy (I watched a friend trying out a monk in an internet cafe today), you have hints everywhere. DIII is WoW with point-and-click and another camera angle. This is what DIII is. The real DIII is called Path of Exile and it's free to play. |

" If you've actually played D3 you'd know it definitely has dark gory stuff - half bodies in torture devices that get shredded when you destroy them and humans and demons strung up and gutted on the walls. *Now with added Kiwi*

" Except Diablo 3 is badly optimized and PoE probably has lower minimum system requirements. Last edited by xxnoob#7582 on May 16, 2012, 4:56:45 PM

" Compared to PoE's stroll through brightly lit fields and forests while fighting common bandits and brightly colored monkeys, the wall of human bodies doesn't sound so light-hearted. Keyblades!

" If you think D3 is easy then you clearly have not played very much. Come back when you beat inferno, or even nightmare. PoE is far easier than D3. |

About difficulty, inferno is very similar to end game in PoE. Both you can't play and will die from 2 hits if you don't have good items. Hell how it looks is easier than hell in d2, but inferno is there to replace it, and probably will be much harder in later acts than hell in d2.

" Aw 'hell' no. I watched the streams, people were getting literally 1 shotted by some regular hell diff mobs. It's no inferno certainly, but it's a hell of a lot tougher than anything D2 ever offered. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The only thing remotely tough in D2 was hell difficulty gloams. Everything else got steamrolled.
So far im finding D3 harder than PoE, I didnt even start to have issues in PoE until maelstrom, but my wiz is getting knocked around a lot in D3. People might think its easier since the party system is a lot easier to get setup maybe. As for graphics, its a different style, thats all. PoE is certainly sharper, but has a lot of annoyances like view being obscured by tree tops etc. D3 has an amazing amount of detail if you stop and look at it, however you need to be playing at a higher resolution to see that since the screen is larger than PoE. Any doubts I had about D3 from the beta have vanished after visiting halls of agony, its certainly a lot more gruesome than the jail in poe. Might depend on what random map you get though. |
