Map drop nerfed? Need a reasonable explanation

Map drop is terrible this league. I play with a friend and we both are struggling to get beyond A4 because we don't have ANY maps... period. I have to make 3 runs, i.e. spend 3 maps to get ONE new map...

This is ridiculous.

And the entire economy has gone shit. Everybody is selling, nobody is buying, bots are everywhere... and exalt is 80c.

lol exalts being 80c is because bots haven't inflated it yet
Stop spreading misinformation. Look at how many contracts you have then how many maps - it is impossible to have that many maps (contracts + normal maps) in any other league, simple as that.
I'm at 19k on the map grind and my personal experience has been 100% normal. Map drops matched what they have been across previous leagues almost perfectly. I even got a crap ton of extra maps due to the map chest nodes in heists (RIP.)

Really hard to say without official comment.

Seems pretty obvious to me that contract are considered " maps " that's why nothing drop. But Heist is full of bugs and loots is shitty.

Yeah, I believe that this is the most reasonable explanation too. Contract drops screwing the map drops. My last three map runs dropped 6-7 contracts, 1 BP and guess, zero maps. Could be just my bad RNG but I dont think so.

I may get 1 contract every two maps, and neither picked them up bc Heists crash 50% of the time and it isn't worth it for me to lose time on them.
I went ahead and looked at OP's profile and found out this info:

#1 Not vaaling maps (probably not using chisels, sextants, frags or master missions) to help sustain

#2 Low Atlas completion and 0 awakening bonus (as said on #1 probably not using masters to begin with)

TL:DR Case Closed

LOL.

Well more than 50% of players abandoned the league in less than two weeks, with many citing this exact reason. (not to mention the horrendous technical issues with the league)

Enjoy your time with the bots.

Only those people struggle with map drops who don't invest into their atlas and maps heavily.

At first it's a bit of a struggle, some people get lucky, but the first steps and transition from 3 to 4 watchstones per region can be rough.

People just need to grind more, juice the maps with sextants and chisels and also vaal if you have them for extra quant and not just a few maps but almost every map at league start. Buy maps run them, rinse and repeat.

Eventually you will get there and build up a map pool when you'll be at t14 maps.

It's not easy, but the less you complain and more you grind the better results you will have.

I also struggled, but now I'm kinda okayish, still missing 1 watchstone though, but overall I have almost 80 t14+ maps. I invested a lot into it though.

A monkey can sustain maps at full completion with a currency tab full of tools. It's the journey there that is filled with bad drop rates of maps. Or can be. I'm still on the fence regarding map drops this league.

Yeah. It's not until a nearly finished atlas that you receive all those master missions when you may not necessarily need them. But grinding a 75/154 atlas with little to no awakened bonus is when you need those missions the most.

One thing I did in Harvest was buying a few of the cheapest unique watchstones to make my center map regions have four stones each. It helped a ton in moving my atlas progression forward. They were something like 10c each and well worth the time saved since I was running red maps within a few days of the league.
