And then, there is almost zero co-op play encouraged by this company.

Also, Heist league apparently works well with parties. So you chose a rather weird time to jump ship.

Can you elaborate?

On what? The game is quite openly a single player experience first and foremost, with group play being just an alternative option. That's always been the case, right from its earliest days (as that old dev post indicates).

That said, the upcoming league apparently plays a bit more friendly with parties than average -

"
How does party play work in Heists?

When you run a Heist in a party, multiple Artifacts will be available to steal, assigned to each party member. You'll also each gain intel and Rogue experience if you succeed at the Heist. Another benefit is that if you die and drop your contraband, your party member can collect it for you and then share it if they're nice.

You could even pool your intel resources by revealing part of the Blueprint and passing it to your party member to reveal even more of it.

Will playing in a party increase the number of Markers I receive in a map?

Yes, the standard party rules apply here.

"
If you're running a Heist in a party, at which point do you trigger lockdown?

This happens when you smash the case that contains the Artifact so it'll apply equally for all party members even though multiple Artifacts are dropped if you have multiple party members. Your alert level is also shared between all party members.

One more thing guys,

With regards to the 40/40 challenges.

That was just something I did this past league after I excelled in all content. Honestly, at that time, I was striving for an elitist sort of "prestige". It is incredibly petty and unimpressive to complete 40 challenges in a league.

Actually, I think it is pretty sad that I devoted so much time to getting the number 40 next to my name in the chat box and forums. But, you know what? That happens sometimes when you are deluded enough to think quantitative success in a video game somehow possesses meaningful intrinsic value.

I regret getting 40 challenges in several leagues. I got some shiny totems for my hideout, but the only people that see them are traders... and for a moment if they even notice. COOL! I get a number next to my name so that people think I'm trolling when I criticize something about PoE. COOL!

This community is pretty toxic, so, don't worry; I wasn't expecting much better.

It's hilarious, actually, when I am the alleged troll and the respondents are engaging my thread with animosity. I guess it's difficult to see your own hypocrisy sometimes.

Well, anyway, my ending point is this: no video game is eternal and neither is a person's inclination to play a particular video game, if any at all.

I don't think I articulated my reasons (for walking away from PoE) with enough depth as many people would like. I respect that sentiment. But I want you all to realize that my purpose for this thread was to share my shallow rationale for quitting PoE.

Good luck to everyone.
Gotta love the idea that if you're bored of a game, the best practice is to now berate and make fun of those who still enjoy it.
Most people who walk away from a game they no longer like do so quietly and without much fuss. But then some people... *rolls eyes*
If you have fun play for abit. If you don't, there is so much to do tinyurl.com/n9e9lc6.

The worst reason to play is out of compulsion.
In my early 20s there were days where i would get up and boot up the computer to play games... .
Needless to say thats no good and i didn't feel good about it either.
Well everyone is in charge of themselves.

Maybe you come back in some time.
Take care.
You have to remember to chase and catch your dreams, because if you don't, your imagination will live in empty spaces, and that's nowhere land.

Tomorrow will be charismas for me(3rd time this year). After 3800 hours and 9 leagues 40/40 challenges i still enjoy playing 300-400hours every league
Bruh, I get to steal things, have 900 new gems to monkey with, and 120+ new uniques, build diversity is going to explode.

Old builds became viable again, new builds became possible.

I'm hyped that Larceny league is going core.

We got new reworked stealth mechanics.

Like y'all be sleepin on this league but its so hype that I can't even.
IGN : Reamus
I was a little burnt out so I more or less skipped the last 2 leagues. Feel ready to take another dive into the content jungle :) If you get tired of a game. Take a break.
There is a reason the leagues see a 50%+ drop off after the first few days, every league.
