Aren't you guys tired of the same old PoE?

Exactly. Its not a game for "everybody", not gonna lie i tried to hook some of my family/friends to this and they arent coming no matter what the new league teaser video is showing, they are so hyped playing other games like minecraft/gta/ark.. even if they sometimes burn out of those games and try another, they just refuse to play poe for more than a couple days. They never make it to maps even.

Thanks Blizz/Activision for showing me the right path :)

Some people are just lucky to get a single day to play, some people hit a roadblock with their league starter, but I feel like its mainly a lot of people just not having a lot of time to nolife a game.
IGN : Reamus
A lot of people just have no interest in repeating the same thing every 3 months, especially when a lot of leagues barely adds any actual gameplay.

The average player probably spends at least a week or 2 leveling a character to a reasonable 90+, getting some playable gear, etc. On top of the leveling/act process being pretty tedious as it is, you then have another week or 3 grinding out the atlas, etc.

It's not a real selling point for a lot of people.

I probably won't play Heist, at least not properly. Simply because I only joined Harvest a couple of weeks ago, and CBA to re-do the leveling/atlas again so soon. That's not the fun part of PoE.

Many Exiles have similar stories. I imagine it's because many Exiles are the galaxy-brains of their family and friends' circles.

That or our friends and family know a pointless treadmill when they see one. 'This isn't a game, it's work' is something I've heard more times than I care to recall.

In fact, PoE became my dirty secret for quite a while, and any mention of it would bring on a look of pity, like, are you STILL on that hamster wheel?

PoE isn't just 'not for everybody'; it's for a fairly specific somebody, but by virtue of the internet and its unfailing capacity to help freaks and geeks congregate and collectively nerdgasm out over their shared passion, there are quite a few of them on here.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Different league, a ridiculous amount of changes, and a mechanic that requires hundreds of hours of grinding for top tier drops.

And then, there is almost zero co-op play encouraged by this company.

This game is dead to me. I don't know how so many of you can tolerate doing the same crap over and over in a single player "online" game.

What would you like to see added to the game instead of what is already here? That's the only question that matter :)

Games like PoE started to get boring for me. Sure it has different mechanics every 3 months, but the core stuff you do still the same.

"Oh look! more equipment bases for us to keep doing the same old currency grind or even more!"

They release a new league, they drop overpriced packs for whales to buy, tons of overpriced cosmetics, and now we know they will release more and more currency tabs. Their "rinse and repeat" type of business is playing well for GGG and Tencent so they have ZERO incentive to change things.

Gotta love the idea that if you're bored of a game, the best practice is to now berate and make fun of those who still enjoy it.

Oh did he? I see no "making fun" either on his original post nor his replies. I guess deep inside, you know he's right. Pretty much people who come up with the "it's not a waste of time, life in itself is a waste of time, watching movies is a waste of time" type of reasoning, live in denial, how I know that? cause I was one of those.

And always will, with new people. POE uses several addiction triggers in humans plus vanity mechanisms. The "Something nicer is just around the corner" mechanism of random drops triggers slot machine addiction. Vanity items speak to the more exhibitionist people, which are abundant (also to people just liking to have a good looking character of course), ladders and races speak to competitive humans and so on. Essentially, the new league mechanics are in the end more like some sort of "flair". In the basics, you will often run the exact same builds, you will do the maps you've ran through a million times, do mostly the same boss fights and the worst: All the cool builds you wanted to try out are all exalt locked to people with too much time, loving eternal grinds or doing things, others hate doing (trading forever etc). Anything that is worth doing and showing up as such in the forum will sooner or later be hogged by trade flippers working for RMT groups. So even the most interesting aspect of POE, the builds, are at some point locked to most people and still interesting to the publisher, since a certain amount will always grind through. But essentially, it's the same every year.

All of this should provide a nice solid base of players generating automated income.

I appreciate this level of merciless self-awareness from an ongoing and current supporter.

Definitly not as fun as some years ago. That I have to repeat the same process every league, which usually takes a few days to a week just to experience something new. It looses the fun aspect.

New acts and leagues that interact with leveling process are the most fun for me.

Failing a league starter is much more punishing than it used to be as well.
