I have this problem as well.

I can ALT-TAB but I cannot stay in Windows for more than a few minutes, otherwise I cannot get back to PoE.

Impossible to make a thorough search in poe.trade for example, the game will crash when trying to get back in. A very quick one will work, but that is really not convenient.

That would suck. I alt-tab a lot for similar reason. I have a second monitor that I have my trade stuff up and sometimes streams.

From what the devs said when they added it, Vulkan isn't supposed to have higher overall performance and most players should see a small dip in average FPS. The advantage of Vulkan was supposed to be fewer performance spikes when hitting large packs and such, leading to overall smoother gameplay. I play solo at 1080 and the only time I get noticeable frame dips is when I hit large invuln packs, so I haven't even bothered to try it. I do know that it's also prone to flat out crash during very extreme situations, from watching streams and listening to other people discuss it, so there seems to be a pretty narrow window currently for when you'd want to use it.

It was way better for me first weeks and then it went horrible. Now dx is much better. No idea what happened. Havent changed anything on my end, that I know of.

Playing with windows borderless, no issue with multiple screens and afk and browsing.
ryzen 3600, vega56, 16gb ram and ssd m.2.

120 +- fps with vulkan versus 73+- with dx since latest patch, cannot play in dx anymore latest patch broke it completely for me.

ryzen 1800x
32gb 2666Mhz ram
No throttling on gpu or cpu
