PSA Scammer Warning

Hmmm, you have 100 ex with 7 (!) challanges completed? Or was this in standard?

Standard. I don't play temp leagues as my char roster will reveal, hehe.

(I only rushed one char to maps to farm free daily map missions that get merged to std when the league ends)

Oh - if you want missions I can recommend getting lots of alt accounts. Depending on your stamina regarding levelling alts the number of missions you get daily is more than you could ever use :). Veeery usefull for deep delving in standard - never have to buy sulphite scarabs.

Yes, it's to protect the innocent. But when there's proof that someone is in fact NOT innocent then that protects the bad guys instead.
Do we agree on this point? I should hope so.

No. Something isn't proof until those that enforce the rules say it is and that's GGG, no one else. How they investigate and handle it, is up to them. I would hope it's a lot more thorough than what you seem to be willing to accept as "proof" though. It's a scary thought indeed to think they'd be so gullible.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

I'm open to discussion about this

We don't completely agree. "Proof" is for GGG to interpret, that's why you should report this. "Proof" displayed to a community, can easily be manufactured, altered and displayed in an incorrect way. If I went out of my way to wrongly accuse you of scamming, I could easily manufacture "proof" against you, fooling 40% of people viewing said "proof".

That's why "no naming and shaming" is (and should be) a rule, with or without proof. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and it's not the community's job or role to be the judge, nor is it the victim's. It's GGG's role.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

So is this your bad guy? - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2928397

Cos if so, he claims to be trying to mend his ways. You may be able to get your money back from him.

I genuinely don't know if I am allowed to comment on your question.

If I answer your question now and either confirm or deny it, is that calling out someone and against the rules?
I honestly don't know...

I'll say read the OP in THIS thread and in THEIR thread and draw your own conclusions.
GGG protects scammers. Always has. Everything that they try to show how they try to "fight crime" - is just for show, nothing more

If anyone cares, I reported the account and they DID take action.

I've taken a note of the account in question, and will be flagging it to keep an eye on. When players report others for any kind of behaviour, from scamming, to real world trading, to abusing a bug, this goes on their record. If they accumulate an extremely bad reputation then we will look at taking things further or finding other ways to resolve these issues. It frequently occurs that players who have bad reputations are often committing more serious and ban-able offenses.

I also had this email when I reported a scam, I don't believe that it's worth the electrons used to send it.

GGG are implicitly supportive of the actions of scammers. They may or may not act on multiple reports of scamming (they don't appear to act against bots or RMT so I doubt that they do). They refuse to allow naming and shaming (which probably wouldn't do much to prevent scammers) but their trade tool (web site) has no method to weed out known scammers (3+ reports via email with evidence = automatically flagging the account with a caution icon. And adding an account age/character level to prevent easily making new accounts/scam) and the in game trade tool could have additional safeguards (especially for high value trades). Hell even though I don't believe that an AH would prevent all scams it might reduce them enough so that GGG could be seen to be actively opposed to scammers.

From GGG's PoV if a player is scammed they need to play longer to get back the currency/items they lost, keeping a player playing does seem to be something GGG want. Personally I won't be spending any more cash with GGG until scammers are no longer treated better than me. (And while that may sound an empty threat, I already stopped playing EVE for similar reasons (lack of punishment for killing in hi-sec), being Concorded is no punishment when a simple re-roll prevents any action against the killing player's new avatar. They blow you up, get your stuff and get off with no consequences. And yes I'm still bitter as I loved that game, more than this one TBH.)
