PSA Scammer Warning

here's another scenario... you and this guy get together and plan the whole thing. That lets you come here to the forum and play the victim, with "evidence". Others will read this an maybe pony up some coins for you.

A second order scam!

You can see why they don't allow stuff like this. Even if you're in the right. Even if you're impeccably honest. Allowing you to do it would also allow people to run the scam I described.

It comes down to this: They don't allow it.

Good ol' Shags, the beard of wisdom. ;)

It's pretty obvious to me why these rules must be in place and if rules are in place, they need to be enforced, otherwise you may as well not bother setting them.

As Shag's said, scammers operate on one thing only, the greed of others. Instead of pointing fingers at the one that tricked you into it, perhaps you should look inward for a more realistic solution and stop being so greedy.

I got scammed once when I was buying an empower 4 and saw one up for half an ex lower than the rest, I got greedy and even though I checked everything and it was fine, he said I put up too much chaos and put 10c back in and when I went to mouse over his 10c, the cursor also touched the empower 1 that he swapped and so the trade went through without me noticing. Did it feel bad? Sure, it sucked, but it was my own stupid fault. I should have been more careful, I shouldn't have been so greedy and I made damn sure it never happened again. You know, or not, because I could just be making it all up on the spot and that's why you can't name anyone.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

Thank you both for providing literally nothing useful to the conversation and for taking the scammer's side :)
I'm proud of you.

You're playing the victim card... AGAIN!
Stop assuming that we're taking their side when we call you people out.

99.9999999% of all people that got scammed is because they either didn't pay attention to the item(s) being offered in trade, or they trusted a complete stranger in a video game.
GGG removed the name for various reasons, #1 being naming and shaming isn't allowed.

"victim card"
I don't think that means what you seem to think it means.

But have a nice day anyways :)

If anyone cares, I reported the account and they DID take action.

I've taken a note of the account in question, and will be flagging it to keep an eye on. When players report others for any kind of behaviour, from scamming, to real world trading, to abusing a bug, this goes on their record. If they accumulate an extremely bad reputation then we will look at taking things further or finding other ways to resolve these issues. It frequently occurs that players who have bad reputations are often committing more serious and ban-able offenses.

I genuinely don't know if you don't understand the point of my initial post or if you just don't care if others are scammed by the same person too.

It's either of the two

Look, I hate scammers as much as the next guy, and would like to see more in-game mechanics to deal with them. But the "no name and shame" policy is there for a reason, and that reason is legit.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Yes, it's to protect the innocent. But when there's proof that someone is in fact NOT innocent then that protects the bad guys instead.
Do we agree on this point? I should hope so.

In truth: Knowing the name of a scammer isn't going to help people.

Report it and move on with your life.Stop trying to be a POE SJW.
And yet you make ANOTHER thread about it? It will accomplish nothing, just like every other scam thread on here. If they did accomplish their goal you would never have been scammed. So.....
