Let's talk about P2W - What is it? What is it not?
" Some interesting situations not gonna lie. It turns out I honestly don't give a single rat about private leagues. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |

You can easily beat all content without stash tabs... so no.
However, I would be curious of the players that beat A8 Sirus, what % use RMT to simply avoid grinding their gear or money for gear. If its above 50%, then you could say the grind itself is making the game RMT to win. |

For me, the feature for MTX pet & stash tab is fine, since you can implement it without being totally P2W. You can give players basic free unlockable pet and premium stash after completing certain tasks/achievements in the game, like League challenge reward or reaching a certain point in the game. This way the basic feature be available for everyone. People who want to pay/buy it can do so to get their own custom pet or additional premium stash.
The instant level 70 feature after completing the acts was fine too. since it's no different from the "paying for convenience" that we already have, & since other players can have an alternative to reach the same goal (finish act) by playing or "manually" leveling their character. But the positive buff in the private leagues is definitely P2W in my definition since paying to gain access to it is the only way to get those buff. Bottom line: As long as there are other means within the game other players can have access to that feature without directly paying it with $$$, then it's not "Pay to Win". It might be "Pay for convenience" though, but it's no longer the debate since we already cross that line a long time ago. "A game IS supposed to waste your time but it's not supposed to make you FEEL like you're wasting your time:
It's supposed to make you WANT to waste your time." |

" Ah yes, the thing that you waste by playing games. |

" thats a private league though, i.e. everyone in that league paid to get in, theres no one who isn't paying. what exactly are you "winning" if everyone is on the same playing field as you in an isolated league that isnt connected to the rest of the game? |

" Yes you can. There are races with real world prizes and cash money. And if we consider RMT, currency in PoE also has real world value. |
