Name a ARPG better than PoE

For their time, D2 and Hellgate were better. Marvel Heroes was possibly better in 2015 and 2016, redemption after an awful launch. Right now, there is no competition. Problems or not, PoE is the king of arpgs. This genre is for "old guys", so developers aren't rushing in to compete for a tiny market, which is why Blizzard had to be hate smashed into pissing out D4.

You might think that's just nostalgia, but I played it again recently (thanks to the people who've reverse engineered the engine so it works on modern computers and OSs) and I still love it.

I could see D2 but D1 I don't think had enough content. My memories of D1 consist of showing a hot girl how to dupe and being annoyed with the ending. I even had to look up the video just to make sure it wasn't me remembering the D2 ending by mistake.

I did have to look up the D2 ending to remember as well, but I also remember getting scammed for the first time there, playing it with friends,pvp, solo uber kills and the pain of trading practically anything, Act 2 mercs, that damn mana curse, black souls, endless baal runs, etc.

You are talking of the same Marvel Heroes whose characters had no personalization whatsoever, uniques were pretty much mandatory, no new content in years and that failed miserably as soon as the interest in Marvel movies went down? Oh but they had Brevik to design it, that sure is a plus. Surely you speak of another Marvel Heroes because the one I remember was flaming garbage.

I specifically said MH 2015. Prior to that, it was absolute trash. 2015 into 2016 was a great game. Choices, group play, and guilds were excellent. You could solo target farm like the Meph, Baal, etc runs of D2. Raids and open group farm zones made guilds matter, and grouping was an actual benefit.

You must have quit prior to 2015, which is sad, because it became a really solid game.
