Harvest has the highest 1 week player dropout rate in poe history

At some point you can spend hours rolling, rerolling, augmenting and fiddling about, or you can take the 5 chaos you farmed in 5% of the time and buy some cheapo gear that's 10x better. The crafts aren't that targeted, they're at least three layers of randomness deep.

That's really what ruined it for most people (mechanic wise). The more rng layers, the more reliable the craft needs to be. People don't want to jump through a lot of hoops just for another junk result. It was what, just a day ago someone was surprised that a lucky role could manage to be so low.

That's not to say it doesn't have it's appeal for some people.
Yep, totally over league play.
I really don't want to sit after 12 hours shifts in my free days to scout the crafting sites to see what exact crafts I need , how should I get them, then go into hours of farming the same seed for a change to maybe get what I need.

It was already bogus for me to try essence crafting and fossil crafting without having much currency, and always trying 10-15 times before quitting and spend more on the actual item.

The only people whom are actually enjoying this league, are veteran streamers and people whom actually play this game too much to know every damn craft and crafting exploit fixing prices everywhere.

How the hell does GGG expect me to craft mirror tier gear, If I didn't have mirror tier gear or currency in my life.

I hate it that I am forced into crafting because prices are high like ***** because of no drops.

TLDR, I enjoy crafting, in any game, it makes smile to have the opportunity, but so many layers of RNG over RNG over having the actual currency to craft is stupid. Harvest may bring a crafting improvement, for some, but the lack of drops push me to try out crafting and for sure I will have a bad time until the end of the league. Not that I enjoy drooling over a 6 ex cluster jewel that I will probably not afford judging I play casual.

And please don't get me started, everything this league is sky high expensive.

signed for most of it! This game more and more drifts away from players who just want to play after a hard work day.
ofc,

slightly worse performances + questionable league complexity.

bad+bad=bad.
who would've thought.

you can have one or the other without suffering too much but both... nah ill play something else. back to wow or something FeelsBadMan.

wow is my only perma 60 fps game now monkaS

Necro don't have targeted crafting with harvest. Big LuL.

Not unless you have a bunch of convocking wand in reserve to spam it.

i don't play necro btw but I may if my 10th char still need mirror gears to do red map.
Need more frontal assets and backal assets armor!
Harvest crafting is just another way to "not play the game."

This game already wastes a lot of time where you're screwing around, not actually, you know GRINDING out monsters/gear. Now, you get the honor of wasting a few minutes each zone tending your garden, where a character named "Shabby" tells you that you're having more fun than killing monsters.

Is that some kind of sick joke? An extended middle finger from GGG to players???

Sorry, but I think GGG should be putting out content that actually has me PLAYING the game, and not wasting time on things that have nothing to do with killing and looting.

If I want to play SimCity, there's already a game that does that. If I wanted to study for a Botany exam, I'll sign up for the course. When I play and APRG, I'm actually expecting a little "A" in the game...

sorry to heard that.

purely a Chris Wilson's problem.

The weirdest part is I think they knew this would happen yet pushed the league out anyway.

GGG is in their self-imposed 3 month challenge league development cycle and once they commit to the next mechanic it's "full steam ahead" with it and can't change it even if they come to the realization during development that this league mechanic will not be received very well. As Chris stated in his GDC talk to other game developers it's most important that your players know precisely when the next content update is coming out (precise schedule) so that your playerbase can put that date on their calendar and plan to reserve time to come back and play PoE. Consistency of a game's new content releases (3 months for PoE) is of major importance to sustaining your player counts for the long term. So GGG can't be expected to hit a home run with each and every league mechanic with such a short time to brainstorm the next one and code it.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

how do you think, is this self-imposed 3 months league development cycle hurting the game's health?

- huge amount of quality of life changes are not implemented because of resources and time shortages. for example, socket system change, or loot changes, that should be done yesterday. uniques rework? new leveling system? lab rework? optimization?

- usually 50% of players leave after 1 month after league start (or 1.5 weeks in case of harvest). talking about player retention.

and this all with literally ZERO competition on the market. they are literally monopolist of arpg genre. just think what would happen if blizzard hasnt abandoned d3 or did d4 sooner.
dead game
bring back 3.13
3 weeks...out of 12.
