Indeed. There's only the "Americas" server. The other two options are stubs, since those servers are apparently non-existent (trying to connect through those results in an "Error 3003").

Guess so, then! It's all hitting one authentication location. That would make sense why it sucks.

Oh well, I got a chance to play some more with the Monk, which I love, but I was actually more interested to see what was going on here ;)

The monk is ridiculous..ly awesome!
He feels the best out of all the classes imo, especially deadly reach.

Deadly reach kicks ass. It's a little like Flicker Strike without the animation. Doesn't have the teleport mechanic, though, just the "Reach" portion of it.

I like playing the Barbarian too with cleave and bash being rage generators. Not sure how that will work out in the long term, since I set both of them to be my primary and secondary.

I guess I've played PoE enough that I have about 5 skills that are necessary. I'm sure as it goes along, more will be necessary in D3.

Monk is my favorite, Demon Hunter second. I can't log in long enough, however, to say which I like most and that doesn't bode well for May 15th.

Not sure what you're doing then. I've spent over 9 hours in the beta, and could have spent much more if I wanted to.

EDIT: You can pretty much get in whenever you want to after +- 2 minutes of Ctrl-V-ing your password. :P

Also, monk has a rune for that lightning spirit generator (forgot the name) that adds a teleport to it, very neat. :)

Both games will be a great gaming experience if you're ARPG-addict but I think PoE will be more changeling and deep.
A spanish PoE fan
Right now, we haven't seen much of the PoE lore. it's in a much earlier beta stage. Having tried the Diablo 3 beta, to me it seems like a Diablo game in lore, but not in game play. That being said the gameplay isn't bad per say. It is more arcade like and I don't feel I'm building a character like in PoE, D2, or torchlight. I feel like I'm playing a character that is part of the story. Some of the wizard voice acting is so annoying I just wanted to tell her to SHUT UP XD

...I really enjoyed this weekend. Not only was there some wicked Cut-Throat action on Path of Exile, *quite a few people* implicitly agreed with what I said weeks ago. Sure, the population of Path of Exile dropped by about, oh, a third I'd say, but that's good too -- everyone SHOULD try D3.

I'll repeat: Everyone. Should. Try. D3.

Because no amount of contra-D3 write-ups can sufficiently provide the necessary experience to decide for yourself.

...still, lots of people came to the same conclusion as me and some others (one of whom got a win-boner, apparently). It's nice to be 'right' -- not objectively, just enough that people don't want to agree with you, and then...they sort of do.

At the heart of it I'm still very sad that D3 dropped the ball in my eyes. I definitely didn't have unrealistic expectations -- that argument falls flat simply because Path of Exile exists, and was made by a fistful of folk who had nothing near Blizzard's resources. What I expected was definitely doable, but not viable. Not today. So be it. Maybe I'm more sad about the gaming climate than about D3.

Dunno.

...Either way, it's been a great weekend. Bittersweet, but overall great.

Oh, the only thing I disliked about this weekend was the number of people coming *back* from the D3 beta and bitching about it in Global Chat. I was actually expecting Global Chat to be free of D3 talk, since, well, all the D3 folk playing PoE just to kill the time until May 15th would be...playing D3. Alas and alack, that was not the case.

Anyone feel like buying me launch on or before May 15th so I can see them there?
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
