Quality of life? Naaah p2w
Weird how 2/3 things you listed are pay to win. The death info thing would be a good update. An auction house would end the game overnight, and pet pickups are just stupid unless you have to grind something for 12 hours straight for 7 days to unlock them and they only pick up wisdom scrolls and you have to do it again every league

" Can you elaborate on why those two things are considered p2w by you? What do you win exactly by not having to go through the current trade process, and instead having instant purchases/sells? What would make this system p2w, if its made available for free for all players? You can say pets looting for you "win" you time. How is that any different than the time you can save with special/premium tabs, which are only available for real life money? And don't say they don't save you time, that would be a big lie. See, this is my problem with this game's community. You scream "reeeeeeee p2w", but then don't care to explain what exactly is the "win" element. Or how that would be any different from the PAID stash tabs. |

Well, I doubt you will listen but I will spend a short time trying to make sense of what appears to be (nonsensical) to a new player.
For the most part GGG modeled POE after Diablo 2 and the developers have their own interpretation of what was good and bad with that game. It might not be the same as yours or mine. As POE has been an evolving game over 7-10 years, many of us who have been playing since the official launch in 2013 have seen GGG remain pretty solid on their core ideas but "friendly" on other things. Those things are their "quality of life" adjustments mainly ways to make the playing of the game better and more fun (reworking mines, adding Cyclone etc.) and adding different ways to get loot than just running maps (Delve, etc). Anyway, you will enjoy this game if you roll with the punches and not expect it to be perfect. Focus on the good and deal with the less good - and regarding trade....some of that is on you if it takes an hour to do easy trading where most of us can do it in 1-3 minutes. Do the research, be willing to pay a bit more or list stuff a little cheaper - learn how to do trade without it being a huge pain in the ass when you are playing. I suspect you will not like hearing this but it is the truth. Almost everything annoying with POE can be worked around if you chose to and accept that you are in control of your decisions but it is their game. Make lemon-aid from lemons. Ok so you pay $15 for some QOL or you don't? Neither option seems bad to me.
You only need to buy a blood pack, support the game with a small one-time fee. Or make a thread about P2W in a game that's the least p2w of them all. |

GGG is completely incompetent when it comes to QoL features.
And on a sidenote: a premium currrency stash tab is not a premium if at least 25% of all items classified as currency have no slots. Shame on you Tencent. “Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it.”

" Because, for some reason, the current generation of gamers have stretched the meaning of p2w to include anything and everything that eases a pain point in a game and costs money, regardless of whether a non-paying player can accomplish the same result through gameplay or not. There are two types of POE players:
1) Those who want to walk uphill both ways barefoot on broken glass wearing a blindfold 2) F*cking noobs I identify as transnational Chinese. May I have access to their QOL features, please? |

" I simple can't agree with you in this. I would be completely fine if they truly had kept their core solid, but that was not what happened at all. GGG initial core philosophy was a Competitive Hardcore semi-SSF RPG. Now let's see what happened over the years. 1- They didn't added a centralized currency (gold) in the game because they wanted a crude barter style of trade. => Fast forward: They created the public API and premium stashes. => Fast forward: Now there are 30 different third party apps that "abuse the public API" making PoE more a Stock Market simulator than an ARPG. 2- They wanted the game to be hardcore focused. => Fast forward: Balance is completely skewed towards softcore, multiple debuffs that can`t be removed, excessive on death mechanics, one shots and clusterfuck effects. Hardcore community is pretty much dead. 3- They wanted the game to be competitive. => Fast forward: Removed Racing seasons. => Fast forward: League race ladder has a level 100 2 days after league start. So yeah... They didn`t stick to their core at all. They went fully the "what can give more money to our investor route". Unfortunately every time a game tried to appease the masses instead of following its core ideals and target audience it ended as a mediocre watered down product, which is what has been happening to PoE for years. " all i have to say to this statement is LOL. We already have an AH(a really shit one that requires 3rd party programs to work), so why hasn`t the game ended already? Well as this was my first league that I managed to get 40/40, I can safely say,
It would be nice if the loot was picked up automatically or certain items were dropped (stacked) at the end of a map. QoL is very important in life now a days. I work on Oracle ERP implementation. We have a lot of requests Oracle considers QoL. I had to remind them, not many people want to do the same thing over & over. Most will find a better more efficient way to do it. It is called progress. All arguments aside, the one I thing I will say is, I cannot replace my time. I know the first thing someone will post is this is supposed to be a time waster or some other similar argument. To that I answer, yes, I do play to pass the time and have fun but when I want to achieve a goal (40/40), it is nice to be done in a reasonable amount of time & then decide what to do next. Picking up 1500 fusings before I can 6L is not fun. It definitely passes time though and I do get thank-you notes from my Physiotherapist every month on the money I spend there. I am not Anti-Social, I am just selective on whom I wish to be social with.

I too think they should implement a loot-pet so I don't have to bother with picking up currency. While at it... I think it would be great and time-saving, if I could sell stuff directly from my inventory, I mean is there any reason I have to go back to a NPC all the time for that?
Also, it is really a waste of time to identify rares in order to find the few good ones. If they would simply drop identified my loot-filter could pick out those that are actually worth something, like with several T1 and T2 rolls. And it really is a waste of time to click and click and click to kill monsters. It would be much faster to get a token that levels me instantly up to 90 - I mean really, that is just time-wasting on the way to level 100, it is not like it's hard to get there, it just costs time. Oh, oh, one more while I am it: Who thought it was fun that I had to start the game for it to be played? Why can't I sent my character on missions while I am away doing something that I actually consider worth investing time into? Now THAT would really save me time! |

" I think desktop icons should be removed. Wanna launch the .exe? Search for it! No search bar tho, no folder system. No desktop. Fuck it, lets go back to the days where all was done via commands. Lazy kids and their user interfaces. God, I hope you are not as dumb as you make it seem. Last edited by Charoy#5653 on May 19, 2020, 3:26:29 PM
