What part of PoE is actually supposed to be fun?

I can only endure so much repetition, so I'll never 40/40. The last bits are too much grind for me.

But I don't feel envious or enmity towards the folks that do because I recognize they simply enjoy the game more than I do.

My fun plateaued when I killed Uber Elder for the first time and has been on decline since.

Getting my league starter to kill uber elder and making fun builds I haven't done yet

Yall' find different answers bc everyone has fun in different ways.. for example, in survival games, I enjoy hoarding supplies in a base. Most people just want to pvp :p

Well, league start is pretty much the only fun part. But the gameplay is getting faster and faster, you are showered with more and more loot....i don't like where the game is going tbh.

I will add here that lettting all herald stacking builds on for this league was a huge mistake. Basically any other build is useless compared to this, and every item that is not used in this builds is going down the drain in terms of worth.

You should have completely removed this herald stacking builds because its just non sense what a few can achieve while others cant.

Creativity, which has been nerfed into the ground.

Coming up with an idea for a build and then making that character and it actually working and you progressing through the game with YOUR own idea playing the game YOUR way is what is SUPPOSED to be fun.

Nowdays about 10% of build ideas actually work because everything is based around killing monsters before they realize you're there and if your build tries to do ANYTHING else besides this it is ALMOST non-functional endgame. Where did all the options go?

Defense options are a joke. There's no consideration of ANY internet latency built into the game's design over 30ms ping. Sure you can build to stop that rare +crit + crit multi from 1 shotting you, but because it's an internet game and you lag for literally .15ms your reaction time is off when the other 4 ai monsters accompanying him all simultaneously land a hit with his buffs before your screen showed you it was happening. Then you die and it looks like nothing actually happened...

So with every patch they pigeon hole more and more classes into playing one style zoom zoom kill kill zoom kill before it realizes you're there.
To be effective you don't even have time to look at the monsters so forget about trying to read what mods are listed. Why bother even listing these mods on the monster when it's designed to already kill you before your eyes hit the 3rd line?

Game used to be awesome when you thought you could make a character and for the most part you would always have it, maybe have to change a couple things from patches but not completely have 5 builds in a row wrecked because they were functional and low cost. You could go in your toybox and build a new character if you wanted but the progress part the game was more of a static thing. Now you have no idea what the hell to expect when you take your new idea into the game. Now you are rolling the dice with the odds TREMENDOUSLY against you if you don't invest every bit of currency into an already-proven to work build or one very similar but still doing the same zoom zoom kill zoom playstyle.

Sad state of the game now.. just wait until delerium mixes with standard.. it will kill 80-90% of party play withing the first month.

Honestly i'm on the same boat of not finding it fun anymore too. Got some friends hosting a private "Avorion" server and every day i feel less and less motivated to come back to finish this league challenges.

It's like I'm living on a different planet than most people. Why would anyone play a game they don't find fun?

Ugh... What part of PoE is fun for me? IDK... Forum probably:) Allows you to study the symptoms of mental addiction for free. Like, really free :) You don't have to buy any stash tabs to track and analyze what addicts are saying. And all this in English! Free language lessons. Maybe the game is not free to play, but definitely free to comment :)
