For comparasion, Grim Dawn has started its kickstarter

Love Kickstarter. The return of Wasteland and Shadowrun has made me keep my paypal open for the future when I can spare some cash to support them.

Titan Quest engine? As in : the game that looked great but wasn't playable because of the engine? Besides that, I'm in for all great ARPG's that are made by people who really know what this type of game is about.

I don't understand this. I had no problem playing TQ. With the IT expansion I thought it was a pretty good game.
not enough time for gaming!

Hell, yes, truly we are entering a Golden Age of ARPGs

Not sure about Lineage Eternal, I get the gist, being Korean, it's going to be play2win? The Koreans pioneered the microtransactions thing, Lineage was notorious for that.

Kickstarter for POE please! this would raise the game's profile, and enhance the gameplay experience with more people on board. Expand to Oz also? We have talent here too, exploit us! This game feels like a Diablo 2.5, which is GREEEAAT!!!!! Need to amp it up to a Diablo 11.5.

Most games are play2win, I think. Although what you mean by 'win' is much harder to pin down. :)

Seriously, though, I played L2 on a private server with the experience rate multiplied by 30 and even that was a grind. I'm not sure I'd expect anything else from a spin-off game. Lineage games are beautiful, well-made, and damn near unplayable by anyone with anything resembling a life.

GGG have already said they don't want to use kickstarter because the site takes a cut of the money. I think they're doing just fine working internally. Once they're a bit more confident and stable and the game is ready for it, I am sure this game will get much greater exposure through the right channels.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

$8000 to design a side-quest. Which must be simple. And they may or may not reject it.

That's pretty arrogant. If I was going to give them money, I'd say my $8000 is worth more than just a cursory effort on their part.

"OK, I paid you my $8000, and I have this great idea for a sidequest spanning multiple zones and bosses which will reward you with the blade Zulkarron, the Might of the St--"
"I'm gonna stop you right there. How about you just milk a cow instead?"
"But--"
"Farmville it is! This lunch is over. Can you get the bill? Thanks."

Paying 8k doesn't mean you can design any type of stupid quest that doesn't have to do anything with game, and that they should accept it.

I'm sure that's more of a safeguard against "And then you resurrect Hitler and establish a New World Order" type of ideas.
None of the upper end kickstarter purchase perks for either Grim Dawn or Shadowrun Returns seem worth it to me. Your face as an npc? PLEASE, if I were that good-looking I wouldn't spend that much time killing demons in a game where my face doesn't matter. Honestly.

As for designing a side-quest, man...how is that ANY cooler than designing a unique item? And the creative process might not be as silly as Dreggon put it, but I can tell you first-hand that not all of my ideas are going to make it into the final product of my unique. Balance is something the devs do every day, whereas I just wanted to make a cool item based on a theme. In GGG's total defence, however, they've responded to all of my issues and queries very well. They said I'd be happy with the final product and I'm sure of it. But it's not a smooth ride to get there. And that's just one item.

...Imagine how much balance and tweaking a side-quest would require.

I like the hitler idea. Maybe the devs should put it in path of exile
I'm backing Grim Dawn now and will buy TorchLight 2 too whenever it comes out.
