For comparasion, Grim Dawn has started its kickstarter

I sent supporter money to Grim Dawn -- it sounds like an awesome project (and I especially love the setting). I was a Legendary supporter before, but I upgraded a bit now that they've launched their Kickstarter. They've got $94,000 already after only one day. I hope this means they'll make their goal!

They have 30 days remaining on KickStarter, I'm sure they're going to more than surpass their goal of $280,000. I won't be surprised if they hit a million. Once the spot light is off Grim Dawn though, it could be nice to get a big kick start for Path Of Exile. Or maybe they've already received enough funding themselves for now?

Hell, yes, truly we are entering a Golden Age of ARPGs

Not sure about Lineage Eternal, I get the gist, being Korean, it's going to be play2win? The Koreans pioneered the microtransactions thing, Lineage was notorious for that.

Kickstarter for POE please! this would raise the game's profile, and enhance the gameplay experience with more people on board. Expand to Oz also? We have talent here too, exploit us! This game feels like a Diablo 2.5, which is GREEEAAT!!!!! Need to amp it up to a Diablo 11.5.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!
The publicity received by KickStarter is huge... because of it Grim Dawn is now being featured every where, including Rock Paper Shotgun and PCGamer. PoE servers may not be able to handle that many more people joining the beta...

edit: of course they would be able to drastically upgrade their servers if needed once they're funded even more...

I certainly hope that the TQ engine was upgraded though. Hard to tell from the videos, but the graphics in TQ while were alot better than D2, they will be dated by D3 and PoE's standards.

I like the way TQ did the skills though, everyone starts off as a complete scrub.. depending on what skills you start putting points into is what you became, rather than the 'type name' and 'pick class'. PoE at least lets you grab skills that were more obvious for another class, like a witch with sword skills, etc.

I'd been following Grim Dawn off and on since I heard about it a year or so ago, but this article was the first time I'd read this:

"Non-linear progression allows you to unlock new areas by repairing bridges, defeating enemy blockades, etc, as soon as you have the resources and power to do it."

And: "Give players meaningful quest choices and the ability to visually change the starting town as they help to rebuild and secure the future survival of humanity."

Not just a nonlinear open-world ARPG, but an ARPG whose open world involves overcoming obstacles to access it. And an ARPG where player choice not only exists, but has a meaningful effect on the world. That makes it quite a lot more structured and interesting than Sacred, and potentially comparable in freedom and complexity to "traditional" RPGs like the TES games or Fable.

And it looks like they retained the TQ skill system, which I loved. Looks promising indeed :)

Titan Quest engine? As in : the game that looked great but wasn't playable because of the engine? Besides that, I'm in for all great ARPG's that are made by people who really know what this type of game is about.

I don't think they can.

Only US residents can post projects on Kickstart, and AFAIK there are none on the GGG team.
My worry with TQ was the amount of hacks and super items you can create! It appears that GD would go down in this direction with no DRM etc... I hope it has an online mode with similar protection like POE for us people who don't want to cheat :(

Of course when POE launches and the profile of the game is raised I hope POE also will have adequate cheat/hack protection. Or the game may end up like Dungeon Defenders.

Heard of this game awhile back, caught my attention because it had rag-doll physics too (which i adore). Should check out the site its looking pretty good.

Just don't mention Diablo lol
