I'd be interested at some point to know more about the world building tools used at GGG.

Here's a youtube video of a talk that Jonathan gave at a game developer meeting about PoE's area generator. That footage is a year old and GGG's tools are much more sophisticated now but it's still interesting to watch.

I think Grim Dawn looks really neat, but it is quite a ways down the road (i think 18 months or so). Do we know if they plan on doing dedicated servers for multiplayer?

They don't have any plans for dedicated multiplayer servers. It's a major bummer for me, because I can't see myself putting much time into a game like that if it isn't online. It looks really good outside of that.

I liked TQ so probably I will like GD also .. if it actually comes to fruition. I am particularly interested in the open world aspect, has anyone done that with an ARPG before?

Yes..Sacred and Sacred 2 has open world with tons of quest, secret places, monsters..towns..everything..

but TBH...Open world can be pretty boring.. The most fun I had in Sacred 2 was when I was following main quest line and skipping all Open World content.. except few places here and there.
Didn't GD already having a kickstarter style of purchasable packages on their website?
Did they abandon that idea or something?

Sacred 1 = Sacred 2 > Diablo 2

Back on topic, Worth helping these guys also, as per Wasteland 2!
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

not a chance sacred was boring ;)
Lol just pulling your leg

Sacred 2 -> Sell items straight from inventory = Game Set Match.

Anyway, I play them all, still installed on my HD: D2 TQ, S1, S2, POE :) Not D1 though too old! :(

Titan Quest>S1+S2
Titan Quest + mods > D2

Why original titan quest was no better than d2 for me is:
-no randomization of areas
-no gore and blood
-to easy

Grim Dawn fixed all this 3 things.
Will def. support grim dawn, great game and I admire their courage to work on the game they love instead of working in a different company designing shit without their heart.
The game graphics look quite nice, i especially like the scenery at 2:40. PoE should have areas like that :) Green fields n stuff.
