For comparasion, Grim Dawn has started its kickstarter
" does.not.compute If PoE is your cup of tea then GD is most likely too. Edit: just checked the kickstarter page again and during their first day they have already made 50k o_O I hope they do well, my own budget is rather limited so i can't really help them out at this point. The exaggerated animations and what I can only describe as 'silly gore' are distracting. Haven't played it but the combat looks to be missing a little something. I may still try it out. I don't like dismissing things off hand from initial impression.
the atmosphere seems good and the look seems quite polished. "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion
Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet? |

not sure how i feel about this. i'm all for the Grim Dawn guys getting the game made, but I also pre-purchased the game/beta/alpha for the express reason to support them. and that was something like 2 years ago. seen so very little from them in the past while that I kinda gave up on checking in to see whats happening.
as it stands im seeing a much better (and playable) product worth supporting right here, so cant say my funds are going Crate Entertainments way again. as an aside, the best part about the titan quest engine was their rather neat level/world editor. i'd be interested at some point to know more about the world building tools used at GGG. |

I liked TQ so probably I will like GD also .. if it actually comes to fruition. I am particularly interested in the open world aspect, has anyone done that with an ARPG before?
not enough time for gaming!

It has a good look, but I don't care for the pace, sure it will be addictive at first, but after a while I could see myself getting real tired of that kind of grind, not my cup of tea either, i'll stick with POE, more in your face, realistic and has what i'm looking for in Leaque gameplay modes.

Looks nifty. It's definitely more 'on my radar' after viewing that video and checking out the kickstarter packages.
...Maybe GGG are lucky I found this first. ;) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

Well already decided to upgrade my supporter package here to gold and I think I will do the $85-150 range for GD. Being able to be in the alpha and beta along with the other perks and the game make those attractive. Basically just want to support games that I enjoy, played many hours of TQ and the expansion so will probalby enjoy GD. Although I have to say Im not sure of the pace, I kind of like to take my time like it wouild happen in RL, the fast paced action of the Occultist video was kind of a turn off.

I already paid for the "Legendary Fan Edition" on their website.. but I am glad to see them on KickStarter and to see they're already well over 50k in half a day. I'm excited as it looks like alpha may be here sooner than expected should they reach or even exceed their goal.
Hopefully Diablo 3 won't be that bad. Then I'll have Diablo 3, Path Of Exile, Grim Dawn, and maybe Torchlight 2 to play. I'm not a one game guy, it will be awesome to have multiple ARPGs to play! "It's a harsh, difficult world. You have to be prepared for it. We're not babying the players."

I've given these guys my support as well. I just think we need more well done games in this genre. It's an exciting time for AARPG fans!
