"No Dead Babies" Option, Please

What do you get when you put a baby in a render?

An insurrection.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

Seriously, I can't wait til we get to the real twisted shit like you get glimpses of during the temple class video
Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat Server Test, and Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat League Event!
I think parents should just be responsible enough to keep their children away from adult content.

This mindset of having to "protect" people from "bad things" is what lead to many years of censorship in Germany (where i live).

Adult people over here do not want this crappy "Oh look! Those soldiers in Command and Conquer aren't actually human. They're cyborgs and their blood is green so it's all OK :) :). Also let's just flat out ban video games with too much violence so no one will have to "endure" them" bullshit anymore.
The dumb is strong in this one

Good show, OP, good show.

So you allow your 9-year-old child to play a game that consists entirely of killing and then complain about it being too gory? Wow.
Sorry but please go away and stop your 9 year old son playing this damn game.

ITS AN 18+ GAME!! HE SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING IT TO BEGIN WITH.

Things like this are exactly the reason we have crappo censorship and I basically cannot say anything without offending or hurting some persons beliefs or feelings.

Parents really need to start being more damn responsible, if you are letting them play or watch content that isn't appropriate to them and they are TELLING YOU it's inappropriate for them 'MOM THESE DEAD BABIES ARE GROSS!'

THEN DON'T LET THEM DAMN WELL PLAY IT XD
Urgh.

Too much gore in Kill Bill? Don't watch it? But even more importantly, don't let little Timmy stand over your shoulder while YOU watch it.

Didn't like the baby killing scene from the new, critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones? Don't like the sex or nudity? Don't watch the show. But even if you DO like it, maybe watch it when Timmy's in the other room playing World of Warcraft?
To be honest, I'd be more concerned with what's said in online chat than 'gore' from an isometric video game. Other players, given the opportunity to be anonymous, will say some pretty screwy stuff when online. Certainly not the sort of stuff I'd want a kid reading till they were a bit older.

Seriously, I like the gore in PoE. I like the idea of a dark, twisted Gothic world. It's probably the games biggest draw card for me over Diablo III and Torchlight II. They are obviously all going to be great games with their differences, but its the darkness of PoE that I'm digging. The idea of a super-grim world on the brink of collapsing. For some perspective, I don't even like zombie movies or horror flicks - I just think there are currently FAR TOO MANY GAMES designed for kids. I don't only ever watch television designed just for kids, so why would I only ever want to play games designed for kids?

Personally, I REALLY don't want to play another ho-hum cartoony RPG. I don;t think a big studio will EVER make something properly dark, because they aim at mass consumption. One of the real virtues of a tiny studio like Grinding Gears is they have a lot more artistic freedom and don't have to make a million billion francs to recover their development and marketing costs.

But, if that's what YOU want. Then Diablo III comes out in just over ONE month. And EVEN BETTER, you'll have Torchlight II you can play on your laptop in the Chuck E Cheese WiFi area soon enough.

Gah. I very rarely feel the need to sprout up on these sorts of topics, but sometimes I wonder about people.

Eh, I need to get back to work.
It's a freakin' doll.
I can appreciate the OP's concern as he/she wants to be
a good parent, at some level at least.

But......

One, my 56 year old eyes did not see a dead baby
on the beach. I saw a baby doll.

Two, stop trying to muck up adult level games
with the Politically Correct content control.

Three: This game is not for children. If you worry
about your child seeing things that may disturb your
child, then edit your behavior and what you bring
into your home until said child can no longer be harmed
by your actions.

Four. This space left blank on purpose.

Five. STop letting a 9 year old determine your actions. Direct the child to work on its school studies and stop
watching what leisure pursuits you engage in. The child
should be learning not playing video games.

I hear shaking children is a good way to keep 'em quiet..real quiet, lol.
