Did the PoE 4.0 announcement meet your expectation?

Frankly speaking i don't care much about 4.0.
I was hoping for something major regarding endgame but instead we get once again "more acts" and some "general improvments" that happens anyway in every 3 month patch.

Anyway, im waiting for 3.9. Atlas changes looks interesting.

I'm not even thinking about PoE 2 right now, I'm so hyped for 3.9. I love when the end-game is shuffled or changed a little to mix it up, that's enough for me for a long time. PoE 2 is so far away right now, that I don't really care about it, but a new campaign is nice, also changing it up so that leveling is not always the same. And the engine improvements and such, I don't see anything to complain about. It's all free anyway, I would have been happy with A LOT less.

right? after all most old players do play for the end game and that is changeable eazzy, most of what they add in 4.0 is the quality of life we've been whining about, using multiple skills, new engine, separated items from links, character models, cooler animations, better graphics than D4 and so much more. dude this christmas we are getting that eggnog and making some awesome builds :)

Attach an extra head, a third leg, and a second set of arms to Frankenstein's monster and you've still got Frankenstein's monster.
are you people paid by blizzard or something? it is amazing absolutely amazing i have been having fun in this game since i started playing and all they showed me is everything i would ever have wanted improved without destroying what i love from it.
i am HAPPY and all i hope for is time to play it.
I'm just one of the growing number of players who see fundamental problems in the core gameplay loop we already have, and little to nothing being done about those problems. I don't have any issue with the specific things they announced. But for the most part all I see is adding more parts to the increasingly mismatched parts that are already present.

Just because I'm not fawning all over them and everything they say or do doesn't mean I hate them or the game, and it certainly doesn't mean I'm some kind of Blizzard spy or something lol.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

Looking forward to POE2 for changes in the "feel" of the game, mainly. Don't care about shapeshifting, I find it a pretty twee fantasy cliche, and I was hoping for a hint at the narrative beyond vague lines about corruption and darkness, but it's early days, and what they've been working on is definitely looking great so far. I hope the "shared endgame" concept doesn't end up holding them back.

Conquerors looks well done, but any Atlas changes are low priority for me as I tend to make new characters more than pushing existing ones through maps. Metamorph seems like a neat little mechanic.

Honestly I feel like they overhyped 4.0 I'm excited but I'm more excited for 3.9. I think that's because my hype got deflated when I realized 4.0 isn't as big of a deal as they made it out to be.

i love it, it fixes everything that ever bugged me and all i care about is the end game and character customization, the graphics are amazing better than d4, the character models are fixed the gem changes i love it, the end game might be a whole different thing by the time 4.0 launches, the engine improved... everything is better than what blizzard (a billion dollar company) presented.
what did you expect? i dont get it... for me it's amazing what they did.

I honestly am happy with 4.0 As well and I am excited for it I'm just not as excited as I should be due to the last 6 months of them saying wait for 4.0 it'll fix it. wait for 4.0 it'll fix it. 4.0 is so big it has to be announced at a convention.

I don't feel it needed its own convention, it is amazing yes and I love it. But they could of got the information out the same way they always have and it wouldn't have devalued 4.0 at all. I see they are addressing a lot of problems but I don't see that it is fixing everything. Although the core systems that are needing fixed I guess is hard to really show this early in development.

I may come off unsatisfied I hope too many people don't get that impression. I am blown away and hyped for the 4.0 patch/POE 2. But I feel I would have been more hyped if they didn't put so much pressure on it to be this huge fix-all thing.

3.9 on the other hand it had some hyping prior to the announcement but nowhere near the level they did to the 4.0 and while it actually offers less then the 4.0/POE 2 patch. I am still more hyped for it then anything they revealed about POE2. Also probably doesn't help I'm against their biggest change they announced which is the new socketing system. I feel it is main streaming things too much, and by making everything capable of being a 6link.. It will just further create the issue of too many particle effects on the screen.
hoary old chestnut

They surprised be a bit with the complete new alternative campaign, but in retroperspective it makes sense, when you consider level efficiency to get fast to maps as possible.
30 acts would be too much i guess.

Other details Chris mentioned after tthe POE2 campaign trailer:

-All POE1 (act 1 -10) story zones will get gradually updated with new materials/shaders/etc BEFORE POE2 drops on live servers.
Starting with patch 3.9 updated Lioneye's watch.

-The same will happen with old character models, to some extent.
I hope they finally fix the awkward looking Templar.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

diablo 4 gameplay does not look better and it was announced at a convention, what D4 has is a huge trailer, poe needs to get out there cause a lot of people don't even know about it.blizzard can sell a rock with the trailers they make.
