Exceeded my expectations but they were admittedly pretty low on the actually improving gameplay element.

YESSSSSSSSSSS

The new engine looks incredible. It quickly became clear why GGG was feeling confident following the D4 reveal; the D4 cinematic was obviously cinema quality, but none of the gameplay, visuals, or overall design made me believe it was anything other than something they threw together for Blizzcon.
I get the sense that Blizzard is a developer trying to make an ARPG based on second- and third-hand knowledge - as if they read about them in an ancient text but don't really understand the context. They know what they're supposed to do in a general sense and they've got a universe that can accommodate anything cool they might want to do (Angels/Humans/Demons), but they also know that MMOs are way better. Then you look at GGG and the founders are all speaking at length about their vision for the game and the impact of each of its intricate systems, improvements, etc. Sure they may have Tencent investment now, but those guys all remember their humble beginnings and you can see (and hear) that they still have passion for creating an amazing ARPG. |

Met my "Expactations"? In what way do you mean?
I did not have any kind of expectations at all really. Why should I have that at all, really? I waited with no expectations. I saw what was presented. I see what is actually Work in Progress. And yet still nothing has been set in stone. And I know what you see now is and may well be quite different to what is going to be when released. Still a bit left to do before final presentable product release. So, how about you. The maker of this thread. Was it to your "Expactations"? |

Did the PoE 4.0 announcement meet your expectation? Not at all.
To me it was big disappointment. New story/campaign that no one really cares about and is rushed through to get to end content anyhow. And not to mention that we already have 10 acts. It would be much better, imo, if that campaign was i.e for lvls 70-90 if people prefer campaign to mapping. Basically it's a little reskin a little reshape a little graphic tweaks here and there..... but basically just more of the same. Only real difference and something new is shape shifting skills. A lot of issues ignored and/or not even considered. Calling that 2.0 lol ok w/e. In my opinion ggg is obviously running out of ideas. I dont see poe 2 making any meaningful impact or difference compared to what we have now. Only real news is poe mobile which was and is obviously their main focus and where all resources go. Not really... im not even sure what all was new other then we get more acts and a reworked link system lol

Yes. Vastly improved engine, totem AI, metagems, shape shift mechanics, new focused ascendency classes & existing reworks. Not to mention reworked linking system and itemization.

Cautiously optimistic. But having the same endgame is a huge negative for me. Maps are boring as fuck.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |
