jonathan said they will probably convert peoples existing fusing into jewellers because fusing wont exist any more.

All old "socketed" items will be converted so they'll all have a fixed number of sockets depending on the type. Usually that's 4 sockets for a two-handed weapon and bows, 2 sockets for armors (except the tabula, which will have three) and one-handed weapons, 1 socket in gloves, boots and helmets, none in quivers, belts, amulets and rings. Items with fixed skills on them will have more sockets.

Sockets on items can be changed with cromatics and there are also dual color sockets now.

They didn't say how they plan to do the gem transition, I think that's not settled yet. Perhaps you'll be able to six-socket any gem in your possession for each six-link item you have or the the number of sockets just depends on the gem level, idk...

It will be interesting how items like the Hungry Loop will be handled, though.

Then everything is available by playing the actual game and the game is the same game for everyone. I can't give chess players who played chess years ago pieces that are stronger or weaker than those that chess players who have started playing recently use. A set of rules (items are part of that set) need to be equal for everybody at all times.

(This is only concerning standard league anyways and it's just my opinion, thus nothing really important)

since you picked chest as an example. you know that even as amateur i cant play in the world tornament or play vs the best chest player in the world? i dont have the right for it... i need to improve ( you need grind your exp ) oh wait exactly that you need to do in poe aswell and in all other sports aswell


i play 99.99% of the time in standart since nemesis league and i "earned" my items with grinding so why should someone with no EXP are allowed to play a tornament were the top 10 players play :)




all i say i care about my stuff that why i decide to play standart... if they fuck up my progress i see bye :) ( and i dont mean the linking its about the item essence...) aslong my 6l windripper with culling will be a windripper + culling and on a different tab a 6l idc... but change the mods to the current mods loooool





E: and on a flip side you dont need mirror gear or legacy items to clean the current endgame... you cna clear it naked + 6l maul or <1 ex budget gear was proven several time... but when you wanna min/max and wanna spend 1000 ex on one build go ahead, because you CAN do it but you dont have to do it :)

everyone can get everything and everyone starts with the same opportunities... in leagues, thats why leagues exist. what good is it saying to a new player that they can find an exalt every 40 hours they play just like everyone else when theyre in standard league and theres people who literally have 30,000 exalts in their stash along with 50 mirrors after 15,000 hours playing the game over the last 6 years? and what, youre gonna tell me its their legacy lightning coil thats the problem there in terms of the playing field being uneven?


leagues exist and thats where most people play because thats where the game is fair. standard exists so that people get to keep the stuff they worked for in a place where it doesnt impact how fair the game is for the people who want the game to be fair and hence play in the latest league.


legacy items are irrelevant, the only way you can make standard the same for everyone is if you completely wipe it and start again, and then it will only be fair for people who are there from the beginning of the new standard and will get progressively more unfair for anyone joining later. they already do this every 3 months, they completely wipe the game so that everyone can start at the same time in the same game with the same opportunities, the whole point of standard existing is that its the one place that doesnt get wiped and isnt fair because that is the fair thing to do regarding items people have invested a lot of time and effort acquiring.
