I disagree with point 1, 7 and 9.

But all in all, I can understand your points. I still like the game, I enjoy playing it (maybe also because I've skipped the last 2 seasons), but I also don't like some directions the game is going. To much effects on the screen, mtx that make these effects even bolder as they are in common and the constant power creeping.

With my current build I was pushing the red elder into the cage phase in less than 10 sec, mostly ignoring his mechanics. And I haven't even copied a streamer million dps build, nor im playing summoner. In the first moment, it feels great, because it seems like I managed to make a powerful build myself, but on the other hand, it's already to easy. There is no challenge anymore in fighting red elder. But it should be.

I would like to see some powerspikes cut down. Maybe add an less damage multiplier that starts trimming down at 500k dps and then gets stronger with increasing numbers. I know that this won't be a easy task to implement, but that's what's comming into my mind while writing.
You say Prison Cell, I hear 'Holiday'.

You will never understand why these things happen until you learn to empathize with others.

OK, Dad.
But... you're assuming I don't have empathy off of 1 post reply.

You're absolutely correct! And, you're correct exactly for the reasons that you state.

However, that is the evidence that you volunteered, yourself, which logically leads one to the assumption that I made, isn't it?

It's obviously "not personal." It's simply a followup comment based on what you posted. I don't know "you." You're a collection of organized pixels on a screen that only exhibits whatever behavior you, the one that controls its presentation, wish it to demonstrate. So, what other possible assumption is open to me if you, yourself, don't provide anything to the contrary?

The guy/girl posted what appeared to be a heartfelt bit of commentary about their experience of the game and their reasons for "quitting." It is what it is. It's not a rant-filled diatribe cursing at the developers for their betrayal of some unknown gaming manifesto... We've all seen those, right? It's not one of those "I quit rants" so we shouldn't treat it like one.

If anyone puts that kind of effort into enjoying something for years and then feels strongly enough that it's no longer something they enjoy, they're likely to want to give voice to their disillusionment within the circle of people they feel they share a common bond with, even if that bond isn't "in real life." The need is still there... That is why we see these kind of posts on game forums.

Most of these points make me wonder if i actually want to play this game for another 6+ years...i am waiting 4.0 but it will takes forever and probably would just disappoint me after all the waiting.

I still enjoy the game and spend most of my free time thinking of or playing or chatting for PoE but TGGG tries harder and harder to make me regret for supporting them. I refuse to let them tell me how i will play the game every 3 focking months or how fast i will play the game. I play the game for pleasure but not to race and if they do not respect that and make me choose between playing meta or not, i will leave sooner or later.

Take a break.

Just do it. Go play something else for awhile. Maybe you'll even find a game you enjoy just as much? More? Taking a break from a often played game prevents burn-out and dissolusionment like the OP has experienced. It can relieve you of the burden of expectation that too many overly-dedicated players tend to experience - They "expect" more because they have dedicated "more" to their game experience.

It's a game, not a lifestyle choice. There's probably a ton of games out their you could enjoy just as much. You've probably put a lot of energy, enjoyably spent, into playing the game. That's fine, but there are plenty of other games out there you might like to play. So, take a break from PoE and come back when you think you will find playing it enjoyable again. That's what gamers should do. You're not married to PoE. You owe it nothing. It owes you only what it has advertised and no more. If you find your relationship with it a bit one-sided, then maybe you need a formal separation for awhile. :)

Come back and see what happens in 4.0. The game won't get mad at you for stepping out on it and playing with something else. :) And, if 4.0 doesn't look appealing or you've found a new game that you like more? No harm done.

I posted this today in here and in feedback forums, but i haven't posted anything else in quite a while. So the other threads you have seen were not from me obviously. I mean you can check my post history ;)
If you don't have fun, quit. Easy as that.

Every game has reasons people quit, PoE isn't any better. Your 11th reason actually made me glad you are quitting. The other reasons? Made invalid by the 11th.

To be fair, I agree with some, disagree with some - but I'm still having fun.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I'm sure he expected something new. Not a near copy/paste of the threads that've been going around in feedback for at least a year since I've been here.

He even pulled the picture from one of the feedback posts. And it's a horrible one too. I don't care how much of crazy optimized sick farmer people claim to be, that was a ridiculously rare thing going on in that picture 99.9% of players will never experience.

Edit: Missed the "N" in never.

Edit again: Lulz, that's probably what this is actually about. "Look what these fucking people are doing! I can't do that shit! This game sucks now."

I can't do what? I have done 36 challs and played solidly in many leagues. Also i've done almost all achis in game (look at my profile) and cleared all the content.
What do you even mean by "can't do that"? I haven't even touched this league at all lol (as can be seen from my 0 challs), so how i would i even come to the conclusion that "i can't do that" anyway?

That picture was just a good example of screen clutter and yeah while this isn't the average player's screen, it is similar to what i experienced while playing some of the latter leagues. It's just an example.

What you write is quite funny coming from someone with 38 achievements in PoE and shows that you're just projecting yourself onto me. My reasons for quitting are listed in the OP ;)

You own this forum?

Quitting the game today doesn't mean that i can't continue to post a bit to the people that post to me here. Dunno why you're so angry about someone else quitting a game. I suggest some meditation ;p
