I've been playing this game for some years now, and I've normally run summoner builds (zombies/golems/spectres). I found this build in Metamorph league and fell in love. I started using cobra lash, and then made a second one with Pestilent Strike. It's a great guide (i have tweaked the tree slightly for my own personal preference) and it has everything I was looking for in a build. Great clear speed, good survivability, solid boss damage (currently I'm at around 9.4M shaper/sirus DPS). Mad props for making me love this game even more.
It's so much fun zipping around maps, tapping a mob and watching the whole screen explode with poisonous clouds of DOOOOM! Leveling was a breeze as well, slightly slower until you can get to pestilent strike, but IMO faster leveling than many of the builds I have played. Once you get to 28 for that pestilent strike, the world decays in front of your blades. For anyone who is weary about starting/playing this build, DO IT! 15/10, will play every league and will league start with it every time from now on. Thank you OP for taking the time to create this guide, I hope it gets many more people to fall in love with poison builds!! |

I've been following this build and been enjoying the build a lot so far. It's really satisfying and fun to play, and the clear speed is monstrous.
However, I am running into trouble with mapping around Tier 8-9's where I die a lot, and I am also starting to notice the damage is dropping off. The main reason for this is because I can't afford a six linked Perfect Form at the moment, which is really screwing me over. I have been fortunate to have two exalts drop (although I cashed one in for chaos orbs to help get me get over the first hurdle in maps), so I am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to tide my character over until I get enough for a 6L Perfect Form. I would really appreciate any tips/tricks or advice because I am dying a lot and getting really frustrated. Also, I'm a noob: this is the first time I've ever made it to Red Tier maps so I'd be grateful for any advice on how to cope with the ramp in difficulty too. " Buy a corrupted 6L body armour with the right colors and some life on it. You should manage to get your resists elsewhere anyway. Be careful that you fulfill the stat requirements (don't buy an astral plate that needs too high strength). That should cost about 20c and help with damage. Look at crafting claws after that for the damage part. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Harvest/zWPkp0t4 For survivability/gear: Get a stygian vise belt, so you have another slot for a jewel to get more life. Your boots are pretty crap as well. You're aiming to get to 5k life at least. Switch out your molten shell for vaal molten (with quality) shell and link with increased duration. For normal mapping you want to have normal molten shell active all the time (or try to). And if it looks like the situation is getting hairy (big monster pack, metamorph boss, map boss) you switch on vaal molten shell and try to burst the enemy down with your damage. |
