Development Manifesto: Legion as a Core Game Mechanic

So yeah...

"In Legion we experimented with end game content that could be played endlessly. Players responded very positively to being able to play the Domain of Timeless Conflict content indefinitely if their build was capable of doing so. This will remain when Legion is added to the core game.

We will, however, be adding a diminishing return for rewards from monsters from the encounter. The intent here is to normalise rewards somewhat, so that every player experiencing this content gets good rewards, and character power doesn't have as significant an impact on how valuable Domain of Timeless Conflict encounters are.

To that end, we have increased the rewards for the first cycle of monsters, reducing them each revive cycle."

1. It's not beeing played ENDLESSLY - it's 5 mins at a time, and by the emblem price that the no-lifers have skyrocketet...not everyone can enjoy...so its far from endless (u need currency to play it, or a lot of time farming splinters which is awfull) - ...not a biggy here...

2. "being able to play the Domain of Timeless Conflict content indefinitely if their build was capable of doing so" - YEAH - if their build was capable...meaning if their build costs 300-400 ex....not 30-40ex. (that is if u want good results - and it should stay that way)

AND TO THE JUICE

3. "and character power doesn't have as significant an impact on how valuable Domain of Timeless Conflict encounters are"

OK ! SO WHY THE DUCK WOULD WE TRY TO BE MORE POWERFULL IF IT WILL BE EASIER FOR ALL ?
If the conflict area becomas accesable to all, and easy to farm, it will become shit, it wont be something VIP, wont be end-game, wont be uber feature of the game as it is now.

SOME OF US invested a lot of CURRENCY adn TIME in builds to aboslutely be the best inside there...u are targeting us...not helping the poor Joe ;)
The only motive u want to make the Conflict Arena to the same level as beast encounters...is to take awway the fun from the ones who can do it as it should...by the current stadnards - which are very good....conflict should be hard....its a freaing 5 ARMY CONFLICT...it should not be ez to farm for every lvl 90 char with decent 30-50ex build like its nothing...

TBH its kinda trash that every league a new build is made...and killed at the end of the league in which it was made...instead of leaving the builds there to be plaied...cause every league...everyone plays 2-3-4 builds...the most efficient one...cause the older good ones...are getting nerfed...cause u know...why would the game have a ton of good builds (expensive also ofc) that u can chose from...why not make it like Diablo with 2 builds in the game and everyone plays that....

Dunno why by this smells like a scheme.... ;)

The smart thing to do is extend Legion. 3.8 spawns two monoliths, 3.9 spawns three monolith, 4.0 spawns 100 monoliths etc., unless you're trying to kill the game. If so proceed on with your current plans. I'll get my popcorn ready, who doesn't love to see failure?

I find it perplexing how people at GGG keep saying they want to make the road to level 100 harder, yet stuff like this keeps getting added in.

This has been GGG's modus operandi for years now. They really don't know how to handle broad balance changes that affect problematic things; they rely instead on "tide-level" changes that bring the worst offender within range... While drowning everything else.

That's partly why we've had runaway power creep for a few years now, and the chasm between the handful of the same people at the top, and everyone else, just keeps growing wider and wider.

Of course that's the path they're going. I can only really recall them ever admitting to an error twice since 3.0 came out two years ago: first with how badly Bestiary went over the first time around, and then later, when their transition to "every league needs a new map tab" wound up making maps on Standard invisible.

Legion was FULL of really bad balance issues; like all new content, it was massively overtuned in some spots, but laughably trivial in others. (the visual "wall of death" some Vaal sergeants made was... Ignorable?)

The game continues to get increasingly inaccessible... And if I'm watching the numbers correctly, it's already starting to have an impact.

Betrayal staying core is the real worst news here.

It's been ages i havent reach lvl 86 in leagues. Therefore I don't know much about the content of leagues. I just think i should play out of leagues of the tremendous high amount of time required to reach most of the contents.

Yeah. Sit 3 month on glacier map very interesting. One time click aoe skill to wake up all mobs and couple seconds later another click to kill all then open portal and repeat. VERY HIGH ENGAGEMENT. Who cares about bosses, maps, delve, etc right?

Any build can do it, you just need 3 IL + HH. Oh but this is content for 0.5% community WHO ACTUALLY HAVE ALL. They don't need to farm this. To the end who actually need this - can't farm. Who don't - can, but don't care. But now in core with lower chance to spawn more than 95% even cant collect 5 emblems or spend some currency for it, because of it be MUCH MORE expensive. And this zone becomes a privileged club for people who can spend more than 10+ex for open 5 emblem portals + have hh (150ex+) + 3(+) IL (~45ex+). What a brilliant idea. So smart GGG. So smart.

YES YES SMART !

IT SHOULD NOT BE PLAYABLE EZ BY ANY BUILD !

Juist like all other end-game content, shaper, elder, cannot be played ez by ANY BUILD....u have to have preetty decent build - and btw - NO HH - cause it will make u weaker there....

SO YEAH - FOR THE LUCKY ONES THAT GET HH, or the ones that dont sleep to trade all day to make profit...i see it as perfectly NORMAL...

IF ANY CONTENT OF THE GAME WOULD BE PLAYABLE BY ANY BUILD - what would be the point....yes they should be available and accesable - meaning they should cost less...or be found faster...

WHY WOULD HH BE IN GAME - IF GAMEPLAY WITH IT WOUNT BE VIP/OP ! then make it 10 ex and let everyone play everything without need for carry, boss kill, without need for party or anyother interaction...

YES i am for everyone should be ABLE to play every content - but not everyone should be able to clear everything ez

FORX EX _ my 5 way build is absolute trash in any other content of the game, i get 1 shot from anything, i cannot kill any boss, cant to anything except hosting conflicts....but those who kill shaper in 2 sec before his 1st phase...has no chance to be efficient in conflicts...and ITS AS IT SHOULD BE. ITS NORMAL....just try to take some time and think - if everyone is a superstar on MTV...then no one will be one.. ;) (bad example but works)
