You just totally choose to ignore the "/sarcasm" part? You know as well as me that there's a part of (proven in this thread) of the community that thinks everything that affects gameplay/QoL/convenience in any way should be free. Call it a straw man all you want. Most sarcastic comments can be viewed as a straw man, because sarcasm more often than not simplifies an argument for the sake of sarcastic effect.

I really don't care, because it's true.
Deliberate straw men for the purposes of sarcasm are no more than toxic ways to derail a thread.
I argue that cosmetics are another advantage. Lets be real here, looking good is as important as being powerful for average consumer. It goes hand to hand. Noone want to look shit. F2P games abuse this psychology very well, fashioning regular items as shitty/boring as possible and selling good cosmetics for expensive price. Once you are addicted to the game and begin to waste hours daily, you feel urge to buy good shiny armor effects etc. That is non ethical, psychology abuse money making imo. It is like putting a well served dish in front of man who eats bread every day and saying you are good man, you eat bread every day why do you want to spend money on this served dish? It doesn't give any advantage over bread, they are both meal.
That makes no sense. Having cosmetics does nothing to give you an advantage. If you want to interpret it that way through some sort of weird mental gymnastics be my guest but realize you're making zero logical sense.
A proper metaphor would be like putting shiny rims on your truck or buying decorations for your house. Neither of these things give you an advantage, they're things people spend time with and don't mind spending some money to boost their aesthetics.
C'mon man.

Don't do that.
Far from toxic. And it wasn't a straw man, because it's the direct opinion of several posters in here. You calling it straw man six times doesn't make it so.
How can it be a straw man when I didn't quote anything, didn't direct it at anything nor anyone and it wasn't part of a conversation? I didn't alter/simplify anyone's argument at all. A lot of people ACTUALLY believe that they should get everything for free in a "F2P" game.
Do you even know what a straw man is?
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Cosmetics on your car or house do give you an advantage in life when dating though. Otherwise in game I agree they don't.
