It's honestly discouraging seems every patch makes the gamer um worse in terms of performance etc like I feel they're not even aware of some issues shit my dad was like wtf is the point of you giving them money and I'm like they're still the best company ever :_;

I personally blame the console users.

This. Pls make 3.8 a much better league start experience. I’m getting sick of beta testing for 2-4 weeks at every league start. Make 3.8 an onslaught type league if that’s what it takes to iron out the issues. I really want to attend Exilecon on a high.

People keep asking them to do an engine overhaul. Well, what do you think an engine overhaul entails? This league was only a very minor core code shift and look at the result. That's why most games don't do engine overhauls - it breaks everything (no, a bit more time testing doesn't help, unless it's literally several months of additional time). Be careful what you wish for. GGG aren't going to overhaul the entire engine in one go (they've said they're improving things incrementally) and we should be thankful for that. Big, shiny changes also means potentially big, ugly problems.

Generally speaking, everyone dreams of revolution, but few realize how damn painful that level of disruption is. No one cares for gradual reform cos it sounds boring, until you actually find yourself in a post-revolutionary situation and realize how damn comfortable that boring old incrementalism was.

Btw, it's a good thing GGG is doing this in a generally well-regarded league. Just imagine if they'd messed with the core game so much in Synthesis or some other league that folks were already very unhappy about. Best to get it out of the way when folks are more forgiving than put another nail in the coffin.

Mark my words, 4.0, while still possibly revolutionary in the long run, is gonna be marked by bugs galore. Ya'll better be ready for that.
