Why do people play leagues over standard?
I work 5 days a week a s I find it a bit difficult to make enough exalts in an already established level 90 character in Standard let alone starting a new league every 13 weeks to be able to do top tier maps and runs.
I heard league the items are a lot cheaper but this has never ever been the case for me. I can't have fun in leagues so what am I missing? Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1695395 Last bumped on May 28, 2019, 12:19:55 AM

" - New content? - Fresh economy (as in; you're able to sell a lot of items, not just GG items - at least early on) - More players - and all the benefits that comes with them - Challenges (some people are into that) - New balances, new skills, new items, new stuff to hunt. It can be easier to make bank in leagues than it is in standard, if "making currency" is your goal. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. You miss nothing. If you are not able to devote at least 4 hours a day, every day, playing in leagues makes no sense. At the same time, these 4 hours are such "minimum requirements". Unless you just need to get to the T12 and then play on the yellow maps.
In turn, in the Standard league you have unlimited time to develop and acquire equipment for your character, which unfortunately does not matter much, because every 3 months there is a atlas reset. It would not be so bad, unfortunately there is also a high probability that GGG in one next patch screw your character or its equipment (using a retroactive nerf). To recapitulate, if you do not have enough time, find another game. This one is for people who get addicted to it and sacrifice a piece of life to it. Fortunately, rehab is quite simple, so you can take a chance. " This is just plain wrong. It makes me sad that new players come into the forums and read shit like this. Misinformation based on frustration. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" No, this is very accurate information. I forgot to add that half of the "game" time is spent in hideout, trading. You have been placed on probation for: ● Make hateful or needlessly negative comments ● Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others ● Antagonise others in an obnoxious manner ●

" No, it's bullshit. And trading is a choice. You choose to stay in your hideout trading. Don't blame the game/God/Satan or anyone/anything else just because YOU need 4 hours a day to progress. 360 hours to be able to enjoy a league? Come on. mostly for the "content" unless it's some piece of shit league to craft only.
I don't care about the challenge chores. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |

" Dear OP (creator of this thread). Please note that if you want to play in the league, you will "voluntarily choose" to stay in hideout and trading :) Or visit other players hideout and trading. Unless you want to finish on T12 maps :P And also, be so kind and turn on some timer. You will see yourself :) You have been placed on probation for: ● Make hateful or needlessly negative comments ● Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others ● Antagonise others in an obnoxious manner ●

I'll never understood how people play standard over leagues. The fresh start is the most fun part for me.
I did work with a guy who only played standard, and only played non-season in D3. He was just insanely attached to his characters and refused to reroll. So, I understand people wanting to just keep building what they were working on. I would ask him all the time to start a new D3 season, or a new PoE league, and he would immediately start talking about his witch, or his wizard, and playing those. He just had an attachment to those characters and their build up. So, I do understand. And if you wanna know why people restart in a league, its for that fresh start feeling. They get a redo, they get to try something new without feeling like they are shortchanging another character, etc. Its just the fresh restart that makes it fun. |

" Dear OP, I played for 2-3 weeks this league, and finished all guardians, Shaper, red Elder and have more T15/16 maps than srogi can count. This was done in 1/4 of the league, and I only bought around 3 items, sold a little bit more. This was all done with a non-META, non-clearspeed maximized character. God knows what would've happened if I played 4 hours a day for the entire league. I guess I would've achieved less, following srogi's logic. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
