Why Diablo 4 has NOTHING on POE

A, I want to state the obvious. Diablo 4 being better than PoE is a GOOD thing, for gamers. Why do you want a new game (that you can enjoy) to be the worst? Sound like something only a fanboy or someone with stock in Tencent will say.

If anything, if Diablo turns out good, it will motivate PoE to try harder, like maybe add Multiplayer mode or in-game trading, & fix the technical issues.

1. D3 didn't suck. It in fact is one of the best selling games of all time in the 10's of millions.

2. D4, is coming, it would be business malpractice not to.

3. D4 will sell in insane numbers

4. PoE will also be fine. 4.0 will most likely set all-time franchise records for GGG as well.

5. You can in fact play and enjoy multiple games.

Just to make it a bit more realistic:

1. Sales doesn't mean success or justify any sort of quality.
If i had the marketing power and practices blizzard has i swear i could sell kinda anything even if the end product is poor.
Diablo 3 is a success on that part sure, but on the other side i doubt i ever saw THAT amount of mitigated opinions about a big name in video game industry past decade.

2. Business malpractice ... I saw many similar toughts about half life 3 :D Still not released.

3. According to point 1 yup it will sell in insane numbers.

4. PoE started with few folks with cheap keyboards and positioned itself as the #2 ARPG for years now.
The game will be fine, however GGG shouldn't underestimate some well known areas that they ignore too much.
Same for the risk part when they release new content, Synthesis proved once again that new content got a lot of struggle both in term of design, and abilitie to deliver stable content.

5. Fair point, talking about that going back to Grim dawn :)

Note: Just wanted to point that sales doesn't always mean success on the customer / player side, only on the company one.

Hf :)

It doesnt exclude possibility they will make such game in the future. It does exclude possibility that they are working on it (or started before).
Do you realize how much money they lost in couple months after disaster with Diablo Immortal? Do you think they would stay quiet if they had something that would make such disatser smaller?

There is no disaster. For all of Blizzard's shortcomings, being stupid is not one of them. The only real flop they made IMO, was Heroes of the Storm becuase you just cant compete with Riot. They are the Blizzard of Moba's.

Mobile games are huge money. Sure, some hardcore fans at Blizzcon booed them. But they got their eyes on the Summoners War crowds, the Fate Grand Order crowds, the Brave Exvius/Fire Emblem crowds. People who will spend 70 bucks a week on a couple skillups for their monsters. People who will mortage their houses off for mobile games, spending thousands of dollars.

Don't be surprised when Diablo Immortal rakes in the cash. Its gonna be huge. I dont know exactly how they are gonna monetize it, but they are going to make far more off that game than possibly any hardbox 1 time fee release they would hope to make. Which is exactly why they made it.

I'm gonna play it, I bet a large portion of people here are gonna play it, most Blizzard fans will play it, and tons of mobile game fans will play it. It will probably be one of the most polished Mobile games on the market, and that alone will draw in the players who never even heard of Diablo.

You guys just completely underestimate the mobile market. There is a reason thats where they went. Just go take a look at some people's running tabs in games like Summoners war. Thats what they are wanting to cash in on, and its a market where people dont care about pay 2 win. People dont care about microtransactions. Its gonna make money. And a lot of it. Its not gonna be a "disaster" at all. You think someone who bought a few packs here on this forum spent money? Wait till you see the mobile market spenders.

Diablo started as a small studio as well. I believed one time GGG was passionate about making a D2 successor (minus the fact you can play 8 people D2 without lag)

But now they are over 100+ employees strong, sold to Tencent, which is the biggest investment firm in the world, & the Absurd price they charge for the 'micro' transition, that makes even what 'evil' publishers like EA charged for their MTX looks like a counterfeit knockoff, I do not see GGG as some champion like CD Projekt.

Charging price of some monthly mortgages for their supporter packs!

GGG seems to care nowadays of putting out daily MTXs then polish the game, & the technical issues many complained are ignored.

They are literally turning into the 'evil' corporations that many here claimed to hate.

Diablo 3 for all its flaws, is very generous, giving free stash space, pets & wing regularly, & do not charge people to the change look of their armor.

If there is a humble studio to back, its Crate entertainmentm makers of Grim Dawn, shockingly, they also allow gamers to change armors at zero cost.

They do charge for all that stuff. They charge up front, before you even know if you care enough about the game to buy it.

Oh come on now Shag. I could buy multiple copies of many games for the amount of money I spent on PoE and all I've ever bought is stash pages. They have definitely came out ahead of Blizzard with my single D3/RoS purchase multiple folds.

Generally, you do get way more value for upfront purchases. Well, until EA gets a hold of them. They treat their 60 dollar games like F2p games.

For all the shit Blizzard gets, at least they dont have 500 DLCs and charge for game requiring stuff even after a big purchases.

Just wait till we see good ole Borderlands 3 with its 900 DLCs.

That's true. When it's time to goof off and game I'm not doing it on a 4" screen and don't understand how others can with access to 70" LCDs and high end hardware that dwarfs the most powerful phones. youre probably right though will be very popular.

BTW I liked d3 until they started making it so easy carebear patch 1.2 forwards. Kinds like this game went full clear speed but now its more popular than ever. So i'm usually wrong.
Git R Dun!

No disaster? Dude, they lost 3.7 billion $ in their stocks in one month after Blizzcon. If its not disaster then I dont know what is it.

Therefore, we have to buy good mobiles to be prepared for PoE 4.0. 10Cent will ensure this will be mobile, as mobile games can earn millions very quickly. PoE is perfect for mobile use - most of PoE players use only 2 things - attack and movement - nothing complicated - perfect for 2 thumbs on the mobile screen. Lets enjoy PoE before this will happen...
Some of you may think that GGG will not do that... Why not? Companies are set to make money. This poor 20K pool of existing PoE core players is nothing if compared to China market: The 619.5 million players in China will spend $37.9 billion in 2018 (it was forecast valid on August 2018). Why not to take some part of that? Activision Blizzard wants that, Tencent Holdings is unlikely to neglect such opportunity.
