Why Diablo 4 has NOTHING on POE
" Yeah, all you said are valid and real points. I agree with them indeed. However, I still think it will devour PoE alive. I got the same feeling in 2012 when I played the closed beta of PoE. I "knew" this game will be going to eat the diablo franchise alive. Some of my friends laughed at me when I told them that. I got the same feeling now. Could I be wrong? Of course. " Blizzard shot themselves in the foot with D3, then shoots themselves in the other foot with no D4 in the pipeline (near future) and goes for mobile phone mass market. There are many reasons D3 wasn't as good as D2: 1. Blizz execs didn't value any D2 team members that worked on D3. In fact Blizz totally shut down Blizzard North and many who had worked on D2 quit because they were unhappy with the way D3 was being directed. 2. D3 auction house + easy botting for gold totally destroyed the D3 economy super quick. 3. Jay "the other" Wilson. His arrogance in thinking that he new what was best and didn't give a fuck about listening to player feedback. It was a total dev disconnect from the player base. 4. Original D3 was already build limited but the difficulty wall of "we doubled it" mentality making many builds non-viable limited build choises even further. Finally in August patch 1.06 fixed that mostly but after 3 months it was too late. The damage was done and so was I done playing. 5. Original D3 didn't have replay value. We can change out the skills any time we want so planning a build wasn't important. There were no consequences thus no build strategy. Also there were no rifts. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. By the time D4 is released the oldest of us will be dead of old age, the youngest will be grandparents. Blizzard starts developing a game, throws it in the garbage, starts from scratch (the only rule being the new incarnation be in every way inferior).
Fuggedaboutit. Censored.

" Thanks sir for the common sense approach to this statement. I am looking forward to D4. I might very well be disappointed, but I can say that for this product as well. We need more competition not less. |

Alright guys.
Mark my words here. First possibility: no diablo 4. Then it will takes another 3 years to release after first announced date of release. Then even if diablo 4 is released, it will be garbage at initial state Then you will see the exact same "balance" patches as you have seen in D3 again: buff/nerf ping-pong, super slow content addition, expansion only 2 years later Finally you will get constant change of design principle because of high turnover and it will go downhill. In short, Blizzard is dead. And it will only do even worse from now on. Don't put hope on Blizzard. It's a dead company already. |

" Looking forward to what exactly? Blizzard has given this many indications Diablo 4 is in any form of creation at all: 1: For some reason, people keep assuming Diablo 4 will come around. Blizzard has yet to give any hints, leaks, guesses, or impressions of any sort whatsoever that it exists, will ever exist, or might even enter the minds of possibly existing. Right now all they're going to release is a game nobody should play, Diablo Immortal. If you play it, you'll be part of the reason Diablo 4 never comes around. and considering Blizzard's horrific game release record in the last 5 years I can't imagine it'll be any good. All the talent Blizzard had is gone, and what talent they have was riding off the success of games invented by people far, far smarter than whoever's there now. They've ran out of those games... F for Blizzard, same thing happened to Bioware |

" 1. So did Anthem sales wise and look that piece of shit turned out... 2. WTF do they care about business malpractice they have so damn many lawsuits they are facing atm anyways lol 3. IF its ever made 4. If they don't drive off most of their loyal player base with all this bullshit racing leagues 5. This I totally agree with and do quite often lol |

" Facts? Yes, you should look at facts. I will say it again, since you avoid this like fire. Look at how much copies of D3 was sold and then look how much copies of expansion Soul of the Reaper was sold. Maybe you will finally realize, in your fanboy brain, that D3 failed horribly. |

D4 or something big is in the works IMO, ''Project Fenris'' is likely it as been rumoured. Beyond that it's all assumptions and we can't predict anything realistic based on the little(if any) information we have at the present moment.
A potentential Path of exile ''killer'', i.e a dark mature and modern version of Diablo 2 with impressive graphics and atmosphere, maybe even decent itemization. It's enterily possible that Blizzard is doing exactly this after all the years of ''listening'' to unhappy complains regarding D3. The phone game blizzcon ''disaster'' doesn't exclude this possibility despite what people in their anger claims, we don't know. A game that finally proves they do not care about the old B-North diablo games, the last nail in the coffin for their old fans, it's possible as well.
