[0.10.3b] CI DUALWIELDING MELEE DUELIST (updated 16/03/2013)

I'm wondering if this new unique thicket hood would be a good choice for this build.

It doesn't give ES, but the possible +2 to discipline lvl could mitigate that somewhat. The biggie is the frozen immunity, which is huge since we're going CI and will already plan on getting Chayula for the stun immune. Thoughts?

From my point of view, I think is a great one. You leave the dependency of Dream Fragments, reduce the reserved mana of auras, ... I would like to have one :P.

My guide is getting heavily revamped (big, big changes..) - with the inclusion of this helmet as well (although not to put discipline on as the +2 won't provide that much benefit on that gem, but will be helpful on some % ones).

I haven't updated yet as the new patch next week may change things dramatically.

One thing to note, ES gets factored by 5 in my build, more as I add more ES nodes. So even a 200 ES helmet becomes 1000 ES.

I'm working on a Melee CI character as well (albeit 2H), I am curious how are you doing without RT and no Accuracy nodes at all? I figured you need reliable Life Leech to make it work and can't see your chance to hit being all that reliable.
good build
Very thorough build. I'm currently level 42 and have noticed that my survivability has become hard to manage. I noticed I tend take heaps of damage from mobs and bosses very easily. Although with a good amount of resistance. (~40%) It might be my armor that is the issue in this case. (currently Armor: 342).

Also, I'm quite curious if I'm supposed to be using some kind of life leech (Life leech or life gain on hit) for my sustain because currently I have nothing of that use according to this build. It seems if I did use it, I would have a much better chance of surviving?

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied as how this build is turning out and I am having tons of fun with it. Can't wait to see what this build can do in the higher levels.

Update comming anytime soon, i'm really curious!
Some advices for u. first, since u should only get CI at high levels (70 should do if u have enough energy shield, and by enough i'm saying at least 3k) u should get lots of life and then use regrets when u get CI. Second, since evasion will not help you at high levels, you should take iron reflexes from the beginning. Third, u will need unwavering stance, cause you will have 1 hp and every hit u take will stun u.

So your tree at those levels should be:

30

65'ish

119

That's just my opnion but i don't think duelist is the most suitable for this build, u should try a dual claw shadow, would work better.

Thanks for your reply.

You don't need iron reflexes when you have Eye of Chayula (cannot be stunned). This build is around Eye of Chayula. Also, I kept evasion in this build as it works well with both Enfeeble and reflect.

Secondly, you can't cleave with claw, so that build doesn't work. Nor can you cleave with dagger. Only swords and axes. Cyclone is off limits as it is just too poor of an ability at the moment.

As for when you get CI, that is down to playstyle. I was able to go it well before 70 without issues.

Regarding update of this guide - I was meant to do it when the new gems came into the game, which they haven't yet as they have been delayed.

I feel you maybe you can revise the 65 points milestone. I'm currently in that zone, and I'm realizing how tough it is right now not having enough Life, ES and Armor. Which in turn, is making it very hard for me to do any (farming/grinding). So basically, now I'm stuck with a useless character. Maybe it be focus on a certain area first instead of having it fork into two areas, which don't grab any necessities around 65 points.

I felt 65 should have been like this:
