Why is everyone losing their shit over the monocle, but no one's questioning that she's wearing bloody lipstick?! Maybe the monocle helps her with examining maps or gems or something, but I fail to see any reason why she'd be wearing lipstick. It doesn't fit with the exile aesthetic, nor does it fit with the academic aesthetic. I can picture her using that monocle to examine the Atlas, but not her picking shades from an Oriathan cosmetics shop (she'd likely just walk right by it without a sideways look).

I don't have problem with lipstick when her character is modeled after the scion similar to how other Forsaken Masters had been modeled off of the marauder, witch, ranger, etc.

We all know the scion was a Lady. Nobility. If not nobility, at least wealthy upper-class. So too was Zana, and her father. That likely changed immediately upon her father's betrayal, but it's still in line that she carry herself with more dignity and grace (and use the social moors, etiquette and aesthetic wealthy lords and ladies do) from how she was raised. If she were modeled off the ranger, perhaps I'd find this more egregious.

Lords, ladies, and merchants abound outside in Oriath square when we first find Zana. With her knowledge and material wealth (since we see Wraeclast and likely Oriath having trade economies, not merely gold-currency standard), is it so strange that she could afford a few cosmetic items?

The monocle makes less sense since we see nothing else of the sort anywhere else in game. Except on a divination card depicting an "Erasmus". And wearing one lens for no other reason than fashion is stranger than an alluring shade of red on the lips, no?

The Scion was a lady. We don't have much evidence that Zana was one. Her father worked in the Oriath academy, but that doesn't necessarily mean he was part of high society, or even particularly rich. Plus she was orphaned young and so spent the majority of her formative years in foster homes. Her entire character is themed as an academic personality, not an upper class fop. This matters, cos Zana's story and identity is much more fleshed out than that of the other Masters - so they depend on us transplanting our exile's history onto them far more than Zana does for her persona.

Plus even the Scion herself has little appreciation for Oriathan high society. She seeks to transcend her background (and takes the greatest pride in her 'miraculous' mind), not regain it.

Fair points! I had not thought of nor seen it in that light. For some one looking to the new lore for Zana, you'd think I would have caught the entire orphanage bit.

Note that I use the scion class as a reference point, not as a carbon copy. Our shadow is content to do what is necessary for money, even cold-blooded murder, without any illusions of power. Our Forsaken Master modeled after the class has greater aspirations, with machinations of manipulating Wraeclast and politics.

How does that single eye piece stay in place (maybe glued on nose)? I don't see any frame that would hook over the right ear.

I have to wear glasses and if I only had one eye looking through a lens and other not then that would give me a debilitating headache but quick. Looks totally impractical and uncomfortable. Also doesn't do anything for her looks (think Colonel Klink)
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Yes, Colonel Klink was much hotter without the monocle.

Can this be her in town "Teaching at university like Dr Jones" gear?
And maybe have her rough and ready when you meet her in maps?
It is a little unbecoming of an adventurer.

I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...

I posted a face reveal almost a year ago but I don't think this model looks anything like me.

Opportunity squandered, IMO. Perhaps the team can place you somewhere else? PoE 2, hopefully. :)
