Hello, exile.

Looks good. Love the "if" new look.
She will always be my fav. This sentiment was summed up by a member of our design team who recently said "We don't want to take away the feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item, scared to see whether you ruined it or not."
YOLO! I miss you Chris Wilson. 13 years of friendship! Enjoy life mate! |

" I would not be surprised if we get two distinctive Zana models (4.0?), depending in which zone we meet her. Oriath like/armistice zones = pretty looking/civil-Zana (with Monocle) Maps = rolled up sleeves, battle armour,no monocle, slightly damaged clothes Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks |

" Right because she couldn't possible be tough, sexy, and smart.... Sigh, this has been going on since Lara Croft, and much longer than that before video games. I'm not sure how wearing lace somehow discredits academics in anyway, not to mention someones personal life transcending their professional one. (Why the fuck cant a librarian have an adventurous and healthy sex life) You are better than this Charan, I think. In town Zana can be fancy, but in the field she needs to dress down. More leather, gloves, leggings rather than lace, boobs.

" Well let's begin with "regulation academic attire" whatever the the fuck that means. And then you can expand on how a womans looks somehow determines her sexual activity, or is even remotely related to their job function. Again the hot librarian must be a nympho, because...reasons. It's an old, tired, trope. Granted I'm sure I seem hostile out of nowhere, and this might be because of some personal bias my GF experiences constantly, but its exhausting. This entire thread is dripping with misconceptions and sorely lacking an important viewpoint. One that I'm not fully qualified to provide, but can sure as shit identify that its needed. I hope GGG at least discussed some of this with some female staff while attempting this rework. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Nah. My experience with GGG over the years (since the original open beta) hasn't given me reason to be so cynical. There's plenty of negative reactions to be seen even just in this thread. I don't agree with everything they do, but this hardly seems (to me) to be a particularly egregious flaw of theirs. |

" She's not meant to look like an adventurer, she's meant to look like an academic. She's an archaeologist and engineer on a mission. But...I don't know about you, but that's not how I've seen pictures of archaeologists or engineers. Well, unless it's on the naughty part of the web... " The reason I indicated it was bullshit, is because it is exactly that. Perhaps you don't like being called out, but it is what it is. You 100% have the intellectual capacity and relevant life experience to identity the numerous tropes and eye-winks in this thread, but instead of calling it out, you seemingly participate, or at the very least offer muted ambivalence. I don't understand. It's disappointing, tiresome, and a number of other adjectives that I would like to add, but most unfortunate is that this type of reaction is not unexpected. (overall not just you) Anyways, I've probably made this more about me than it should be, but if it comes at the expense of someone at least thinking about what they are reading and typing, perhaps it's worth it. Back to lurking as continued discussion would just result in you being defensive for the sake of being defensive, when really acknowledgement is all that's needed. Edit: some grammar "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." - Abraham Lincoln Last edited by DarthSki44#6905 on Feb 26, 2019, 6:44:02 PM

" Tbh, I never liked Indiana Jones. Too manufactured - he looked and acted like exactly what he was: a made-to-order stereotypical hero by and for Hollywood. His work as an archaeologist seemed almost incidental to his role as an adventure hero. That's not good design, even if it is profitable design. Let's just say I don't want to have to admit that, say, Transformers are good movies - especially in how they featured and depicted an 'inventor' - just cos the public lapped it up. Sholar explorer by day, dominatrix by night and a little bit of both in twilight?
It all makes perfect sense. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
