Awakening also was your first expansion that made the game more difficult to run for slower setups. Shortly after the awakening you announced you would be looking into performance optimalization to keep it accessible. A long time after people complained about the instant spawn mechanic of strongboxes causing freeze and killing them so you changed them to spawn mobs in sequence. So i know you are aware of the game being heavy to run at times.

But then you design Harbinger, Delve and now Betrayal. I just spoke with some friends from poorer countries who can't afford the best setup. They can run most content in the game without issues. But then a betrayal encounter pops up; smoke everywhere, portals, summonings, turrets, tornado's, screenfilling skills with heavy mtx stacked on top of eachother and every mob uses some kind of special skill. And then their game freezes, they die (lose xp), AND THEN DC, after which they have to reload town, then hideout, then map just to get into playing again. And they have to reload town 3-4 times before they even get in because there are people with heavy mtx stacked on top of eachother. And sometimes it takes them up to 15 minutes to do so, removing their map portals.

Since your support system will be unresponsive till next release i just post this here with the question: are we to expect releases with this impact from now on every time or can we expect some real performance fixes in the future? ''An unexpected disconnect has occured'' really isn't unexpected anymore after you have it 15 times an hour tbh.
Breach league more just than just a league. It the beginning of a new era.
Congrats on a fine game, well done and I think that the game is in a fabulous position improving with every expansion.

Now, I would be remiss if I didn't comment on "fixing lag". I have spent money upgrading my system and many hours following forums post tutorials, youtube videos on optimization of the game, of windows, optimization of my internet connection etc. Lag is not gone. I just make a fabulous tectonic slam character and it is unusable. Same with any discharge build. Same with a bunch of other builds. I also freeze almost every time I do an incursion.

Just a FYI in case GGG is reading. Love the game, it is great. A bit frustrating to die horrible deaths because of technical issues though.

Generally, it seems to take GGG a league or 2 to smooth out all the kinks in their content, to where I can play it smoothly on my potato PC... when they added that extra optional boss to Act 10 in Bestiary, I crashed every time I entered the room...

This league, I crash 90% of the time during Safehouse encounters, when the extra Syndicate members portal in... 3 frames in 60 seconds, and "unexpected disconnection"...

I'm upgrading my PC this year, but I'm not holding my breath that it will fix everything...

It's not Breach that introduced clearspeed meta, it was the increasing popularity of the game combined with more "influencer" presence showing off the most efficient ways to play the game. The clearspeed meta was always there, people just weren't as aware of it. So it wasn't really GGG's fault, though they could balance the game better (Rory get @ me if you want help) but it definitely wasn't Breach's mechanics that increased clearspeedy builds. Only Chayula and to a lesser extent, Uul-Netol had tight timers, that's not a whole lot of reinforcement.

And this is coming from someone who is very upset with the current state of balance right now. (Melee as a whole being left in the cold after the stat stick nerf beside a few outliers like Molten Strike and Oni-Goroshi is a tough pill to swallow).

It wasn't just massive the massive loot from breaches.

It was also a crop of cool unique items. HoWA, Xoph's Heart, Presence of Chayula, Esh's Mirror, Pandemonius, and Tulfall were all really good and some are still chase items.

The Splinter implementation was also a huge improvement over Talisman for gating the league's endgame bosses.

I also frequently have issues when the Syndicate portals in. This league in general has be really bad for me on my old machine. I too am looking to do a new build once AMD shows off the new Navi-based cards.
