You know there is a serious problem when Betrayal players end up playing Betrayal like STD league.

I'm a little confused by all the cries for nerfs. It's hard, but a lot of fun. I see people claim that in high red maps they're scarier than shaper/uber elder and have more life...but this is untrue. In fact to claim it is downright dishonest, they're still pretty easy to kill but do alot of damage.

Deep Delve was much harder and yet people went to ridiculous depths. After working on their spec, their gear etc. It takes nowhere near that amount of effort to do red map syndicate - certainly shaper levels of dps aren't needed at all.

This is such a fun league apart from the disconnects, I'm actually saddened that people want to nerf it.

i don't think most people did deep delves, i didn't even reach 300.

and it's just that after some leagues with lootsplosions and crazy corruptions and rewards the difficulty spike comes a bit of unexpected ... and most of the hardened folks left the forum for reddit long ago.

additionally, it's mostly new people and casuals coming here cause they wrongly assume these are the official forums.

Perhaps you should read my take on this, maybe that will clear some things if you can't wrap your mind about nerf. Delve was REWARDING and it was felt extremely so the deeper you went, this however, is not. It's disappointing, unrewarding and not worth the risk.

How is it not rewarding? What? Syndicate pours money into your pocket while buffing all your gear and giving you the tools to siphon more money out of the atlas and craft even better gear.

Plus it's rewarding in the sense that maps are no longer a wall-to-wall snoozefest.
EsperP, we have different opinions in terms of whats rewarding and what is not, for me, I've never crafted anything in my entire PoE career and I did more than fine, so crafting for me was never a thing, same with trading, I'm here to play the game, slay and crush my enemies and not sit in my ho thinking "hmm..what am I gunna wear today or craft?", that's just a no for me. So in terms of loot, this leagues new content (Syndicate) holds no value for me, it's risk only, no gain. I've never had problem with killing them, I just find them a waste of time and a bother so I skip them entirely until I want to farm them for some scarabs and whatnot.

If you don't want all the stuff they give you (and you don't need to craft to pull in exalts from the syndicate) that doesn't mean that they're "unrewarding".

thank god I finally have the Syndic lab, I can continue to xp quietly now.

That should be a colon after 'pick', not a semi-colon.

Well, I'm from Europe and here, the decimal separator is a comma, not a point. It affects all use of the colon and semicolon. Or something. We changed from left-hand traffic to right in 1963. That should tell you something.

It tells me you're trying to change the subject instead of just admitting you're wrong.

I'm not wrong; here we have commas instead of points, semicolons instead of colons, Celsius instead of Kelvin, bans on child abuse instead of, well, not and no death penalties instead of death penalties. Same, but you know, just a little different.

No worries, it's the internet. You're hardly the first person to try it, and I think I'll even let you get away with it. :P

Well, I fell all warm and fuzzy :) Did we just become friends?

If you look at my challenges and my character in Betrayal you can see I did my fair share of exploring the entire new content and everything it can offer and thus I came to three conclusions:

1. It is immensely unrewarding in terms of loot compared to Delve.
2. Risk/reward balance is way off, a player is highly more suggested to skip entire new league content instead of risking losing valuable exp at 90+ just to gain some insignificant rewards.
3. All new uniques are inadequate and pretty much the lesser versions of every single other one available, so in a way, they're disappointment.

Aside from Delving again, and Bestiary fun duels, there ain't any fun content this league can offer, especially not the Immortal Syndicate content, which is overtuned, overhyped and turned out to be nothing more than a pesky bug.

Your character is set to private.

I very much disagree though. I find syndicate very engaging, rewarding both from a currency standpoint but also in terms of character growth and gearing.

It's only unrewarding compared to delve if you were at 400+ farming cities or exploiting respawnable fossils. The money does come in larger chunks less often, and requires you to actually think rather than just pick it up, but it's very much there.

Valuable exp? For what? To get one level higher? Seems meaningless to me at 90+. I'd much rather have engaging content that makes me play the game rather than mindless farming to achieve close to nothing. A matter of taste though.

I really don't think they're overtuned. Just more demanding of defences than most players are used to.
To be fair, I'm pretty certain racers skip the league content as it almost always (keyword almost) is less efficient.

For my league starter I did skip syndicate for a while but now that my gearing is adequate I look forward to it.

But I do agree that they generally tend to over do it when balancing the early and mid aspects of a league mechanic when you generally don't have anything but whatever junk you find as you initially progress.
Yep, totally over league play.

My mistake, updated, you can see it now I believe.
Well, from your point of view, I agree, but from another point of view...Delve was just simply ten times better because you knew what to expect and how exactly rewarding it is OR it can get from the certain nodes, this is just another pure RNG based cluster mess. And I for one do enjoy leveling and farming, it's what PoE used to be and it is what D2 is, not gearing up to the max for every map because of possibility of 3 super bosses appearing randomly from a portal right next to me and ganging up on me instantly.
