You know there is a serious problem when Betrayal players end up playing Betrayal like STD league.

Syndicate members in Hideout : Powderpuff.....they're weaker than Rogue Exiles. Something aint right...
It's the only time you actually get to fight a syndicate member on your own terms with no respawning enemies piling on top of you. It's kind of evidence that the adds are the biggest problem and contribute the most to the sudden one shots.

That way they can level and progress through the Atlas without the high risk of being one-shot and losing invaluable EXP.

And there, right there is the crux of the problem. Players have avoided content in this game for years for that single reason alone, and it seems to get worse before it gets better. And for what, so that you're fed up at 92 instead of 95? And this is beneficial to the gameplay, the community and the future of PoE how, exactly?

I... I, truly, do not understand the experience penalty. It's paradoxical at best, moronic at worst. I hate it with a passion. It makes zero sense.

This is entirely because you've taken the time to learn that fight. You haven't in Betrayal.

waited till level 70 to do my first hideout, went in, instakilled the 3 guys and only then looked at the area level, it's been like fiftysomething.

sometimes i really think i should take the time to read/watch the reddit spoilers.

My opinion on the following subject matter is at follows:

Immortal Syndicate difficulty needs to be toned DOWN immensely, I'm talking about difficulty in maps of course, I don't care about Safehouses or Mastermind fight and why ? Because those are special challenges of a sort that do need to be a bit difficult, do note I never had problems with clearing a Safehouse or Mastermind fight, because I was READY for it and I enjoyed the experience.

Now, being totally unprepared and suddenly jumped by 3 or MORE Syndicate members at Captain rank in a high tier map is not fun, you have zero chance of survival when this happens because as soon as they jump out of portal it is followed by brief lagg, as it is when opening a strongbox, except you're prepared for that sort of thing.

Biggest problem for me in this league is not how difficult syndicate members are, it's simply because the encounter alone is not rewarding whatsoever (in higher tier maps, say t6+) there's simply no upside why would you risk your valuable experience to kill them, so it's a much better option to skip the entire content until you want to specifically farm them. That's my take on it pretty much.

Overall, disappointing league, disappointing reward system (new content I mean), Delve was and still is amazing (if only sulphite nodes were more frequent).

New uniques are also terrible, there's not a single one worth using over the others that exist. Feel free to comment on my post agree or disagree and share your take on it.

That should be a colon after 'pick', not a semi-colon.

Well, I'm from Europe and here, the decimal separator is a comma, not a point. It affects all use of the colon and semicolon. Or something. We changed from left-hand traffic to right in 1963. That should tell you something.

Or just play organically. I keep seeing people who skip the content and then wonder why it's out of balance later. Syndicate is hard, for sure, and in Maps they're ridiculously overtuned, but if you play Betrayal from the start, don't execute too early and just gather info, you can run your first Safehouse around level 30 and possibly walk out of there with a big leg-up. I believe my first safehouse I entered at level 29, left at level 31 and had a few handy uniques and veiled mod unlocks to boot.

That said, I'm SSF as always. What's valuable to me might be peanuts to your average non-SSF trade-based player.

It wasn't until around t4 maps that I started to really feel that the IS was out of whack. But I am playing the cheesiest cheese I could come up with and not feel like a meta-sheep, sooo...

Now I decide, case by case, if I'll engage the IS. Typically I will but if it's a member I know will threaten my experience accumulation, like Tora or Janus, I might just ignore it.

yep, i executed alot of members at the start that made encounters unplayable for a long time. also ignored them from then on.

had my first hideout around level 50 and then lost it cause i likely clicked the wrong master option.

it came back at the middle of sixties but i didn't dare cause i didn't know what it scaled from. my guess was it's the average level of the last 5 master encounters.

what also surprised me is that they just vanish (fortification f.e.) in maps if you leave the map for a zana mission.

I'm a little confused by all the cries for nerfs. It's hard, but a lot of fun. I see people claim that in high red maps they're scarier than shaper/uber elder and have more life...but this is untrue. In fact to claim it is downright dishonest, they're still pretty easy to kill but do alot of damage.

Deep Delve was much harder and yet people went to ridiculous depths. After working on their spec, their gear etc. It takes nowhere near that amount of effort to do red map syndicate - certainly shaper levels of dps aren't needed at all (I've been doing them with a clearing spec, no singletarget).

This is such a fun league apart from the disconnects, I'm actually saddened that people want to nerf it.

Perhaps you should read my take on this, maybe that will clear some things if you can't wrap your mind about nerf. Delve was REWARDING and it was felt extremely so the deeper you went, this however, is not. It's disappointing, unrewarding and not worth the risk.
