Don't nerf Syndicate encounters

Alright, I do not claim to be able to understand this forum game that is going on here, but to my knowledge, so far I have not missed any league. I played far before leagues existed in the first place.

And to my knowledge, there was never before such huge disparity between perceived "SPS" (~Spikes per second, my own invention) of league content and rest of the content. The "OTFH" rate is high as well (~"Oh that frikkin hurt")

I remember some Invasion bosses being ridiculous, but then, I do not remember anyone objecting against smoothing them out over time. It almost feels that now, there is some "make this game hardcore, fringe only" radical movement going on on the forum, probably as a reaction to "go for more profit, go more casual" movement's partial successes of late.

I honestly cannot imagine, how someone can view the damage spikyness right now "challenging". Is this really the way game should challenge us? I believed in better way once. GGG knew better once.

I am still waiting, how this battle for game's soul will turn out.

Thanks for writing a rational post.

I'm not even properly into yellow maps yet, but some of the spikes really are outrageous. Other times I can manage by running around and away a lot, and coming back and pinging some hits --> repeat and repeat. But quite often I simply get one-shot off-screen, and that is no fun.

The way I look at this, is somewhat similar to running reflect maps when you aren't immune. You will die. Syndicate encounters aren't quite that deterministic, but if you happen to come up against the wrong lot, there is no way to survive.

When people a LOT better and more experienced than me is saying the same thing, I reckon there is something to it rather than the usual handwave of "get good".

Overall I like the league a lot, my favourite so far (by quite a distance), and it can certainly be fun to wither down 3 syndicate members in a fortification. But dying 1 second into an "encounter" and losing 10% XP without doing anything wrong? Not such a laugh, I gotta say :-(
This league is CI league, having life pool over 10k is basically a must to avoid oneshots and even then it is not counting with double dmg maps where you can have 15k ES with mitigation and still get annihilated.

i like it tho. I would keep it that way.
Sure, i don't plan to push past lvl 95 most likely, yet i am still capable to clean everything with 1 death per , lets say 10 maps or so. With T14+ i am still net plus (about 2% per map xp gain at the moment)

So, going nuts on defenses is no "all and easy" solution, but would help in 95% of potentially dangerous situations.
I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me.

i asked what gateway you're on YESTERDAY - never got an answer.

it's as if that's kind of a pre-req.

'join my instance and kill my syndicate for me. oh, btw, the ping is an unstable 100-900ms!'

hence, why i thought you were giving me a map to run.

You wouldnt share your POB with me in the other thread where you claim that my 7,993 life, 55% phys dam reduc (before fort), and 50% block is bad D. And you claim to be running the game over like it is nothing... yet you have 7 challenges met. Are you even in red maps?

Well, he did it, so let this be the proof that he is definitely not full of shit.

Now obviously we can nitpick about the map mod and who he encountered, but my initial suggestion changed a lot, and by now it basically boiled down to whether he can even do a t15 map with syndicate on it or not.

And he can, so there you go. :O
kudos to volband for delivering the map.

the exiles (minara, specifically. and her exploding zombies more specifically) gave me more of a problem than the intervention squad and made me go evasive and circle down and back up 90 degrees. (intervention triggered upon minara aggro'ing).

i ran it blue because i was pretty distrustful (and i had a few gnarly prophecies active. deadly rivalry 4 also could have triggered). didn't want to have to deal with that plus syndicate solo in a map with 2 (he was true to his word and didn't enter until i was done)

I mean... Any decent setup should be able to kill Korell in t15 with those mods. If you struggle with that much, then you definitely have problems with your build o.o

Yeah. Once. And that once has been on a steady downward spiral since Perandus. How do you create a "challenge" when top builds STILL instakill Syndicate mobs? You don't want player power nerfed... You don't want mob power buffed... Yet you want the game to be 'balanced' and/or 'challenging'... In an environment where players can instakill practically all content...

Your wants are straight up an oxymoron...
there was another (haku), but he was offscreen. way offscreen.

There is no pre-req question, because we do it on your gateway.

Also, rob, are you brave enough to admit now that you haven't even killed the mastermind yet?

See guys, here is rob, who is afraid to take on a syndicate encounter on a t15 map, and who did not even defeat the mastermind, despite having no problems with the syndicate.

If you see someone being as big as a troll he is, always check their profile. He can hides his characters, but he can't hide his challenges. There are people who doesn't even have a character in betrayal yet defend the Syndicate. Really telling.

Not here to defend Rob, but the final boss is very far away. I did raid multiple safe houses and still need 20%. I don´t know if red maps give more % towards things, but my highest safehouse was 77.

not perandus my friend...
talisman paved the way for ridiculous grinds and dmg income, so many effects you basicly need indicators where the fuck you actually are and less and less reward vs challange relation
Continued to incrementally improve the sound, art, effects and environments.

Safehouse level is based on the highest zone level where you have cleared a mission of that syndicate. E.g. if you run one t15 transportation mission and then spam nothing but t1's until the safehouse, the safehouse level will be 82.
