PoE vs Diablo 3 release date !
" Actually Mr Retard Diablo 3 is all this together (shit, more shit, dog shit) and much more the game suck beyond anything and something else it is not a Diablo game other than name everything else is WoW like some1 else already said. About PoE I have to say this, although Diablo 1 & 2 start everything and PoE is heavy influenced from them, it still succeed to bring this feeling back that we all felt when we were playing the old good Diablo games while adding so many new elements in the mix to make it look fresh and a whole different experience. I believe that when the full game launch and all get the full image of what the devs prepare for us we will all agree that PoE is not just another "Diablo clone" but a better more advanced version that move the genre forward in every aspect, for me PoE is the evolution of the genre and exactly what the hardcore D2 fans wanted D3 to be, PoE is the true successor of Diablo 2. |

I have been hot for Diablo2 every since it came out! it was my first real game.
I didn't hear of it until a few months after it came out. I was walking in town looking for a new game to play when I found a copy of D1. I played all evening and was completely hooked on it. Even though looking back at it, i really really sucked at it. The following day at school I told a friend about how much I loved playing Diablo and he turned out to be a fan as well. He told me about Diablo2 and how I should try it out. The next day he actually brought me a copy of the game! I didnt stop playing it hardcore untill wow came out and did not stop playing it completely untill a couple years ago. I always had a torch out for diablo and was when diablo 3 was announced i was overjoyed. I played PoE in the stress test weekend and it was more then amazing. it reminded me so much of Diablo 2 but at the same time it was so much better! I played a lot of dungeon crawlers in the past years but they always just made me go back to D2. But not PoE, this was the first one that kept me coming back for more. The first one that made me not want to go back to D2. I played the stress test weekend till the second it went offline. This morning my boyfriend got a D3 beta key and told me to try it out as he was busy at work. I did and I played for about a hour and then had to stop. I was sad. Now don't get me wrong D3 is not a bad game, but its not a Diablo game. All the darkness and grittiness is gone and replaced with colour splashy screens. I had a achievement earned plash screen every so often for trivial things and made me frown. The graphics although nice are to colorful and shiny for a diablo game. Well it reminds me more of torchlight then Diablo. I did not like how linear it was but tbh that could be due to it being the first levels. But still the bright UI, the colorful graphics, the splashy screen and the overuse of the color yellow did not make me happy. I think D3 can be a good game on its own but not for people who are looking for a sequel to D2. Its the Diablo universe but its not a Diablo game. I am going to let my boyfriend play it tonight and get his opinion but mine so far is that I will wait till I can trow my money at PoE. This has bin a very very sad day for me, Like as a child being told Santa is not real.... |

" I think something can't be a true successor to something when it doesn't actually improve anything. It just uses a different (and imo much worse) skill system, it uses heavily instanced areas, much more than D2 ever did and it still uses the same map type. It also places a big emphasis on using potions while D2 actually moved you away from potion dependency when you got higher in level and gear. In short, I think it's a neat game for people who like the skill system it offers, but diablo 3 is still the real successor to the diablo series. I find it a bit stupid how you guys are judging entire games based on betas. none of you know what D3 or PoE will be like at launch. The D3 beta is more like a mini online demo and I'm assuming PoE isn't comming out soon because a release date has not been announced. I'm also assuming there will be some changes to PoE in that time as well. Absolutely NOBODY knows how hard each of these games will be. although knowing that not even the D3 dev team has beat inferno yet I'm assuming it's hard as fuck. As for chaos mode, I don't have an opinion on that one yet. Could be hard, could be hard as fuck, could be easy as shit. Who knows? Point is, you can't say D3 or PoE is shit unless you've actually played the final product. I personally am more excited for D3 but that's my opinion. Although I do think that PoE looks like a nice alternative. If I do end up getting bored of D3, I'll head over to PoE. For everyone who says D3 or PoE is shit, wait for an IGN review or a review from your favorite gaming site. The results could shock you.

@ Faurtehman: Forum necromancy is a dark art that can bring you on the wrong side of another Inquisition. :(
