" Dude ... that sucks. :( At least this game is in development, so the rest of us can remain hopeful until the end of the world, hehe. Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08

" Haha yeah right. I'll like to see you try that. The D3 beta is easy but not that easy. |

" And so, I see that we are judging D3 on 1/3 or the first chapter which is reportedly the "tutorial" levels as the full game again. If the entirety of D3 were as overpowered as we now feel in the first 1/3 of the 1st chapter, then there might be a problem, with the exception that people can boost up the difficulty easily enough in the full game. To me, D3 feels shiny and new (even after playing the beta 50 or 100 times already, where as PoE to me gives that heavy vibe of D2. Yeah, theres a lot of things that I'd like to have seen Blizzard do differently, like the lame stat system they've implemented and the ruins are not at all what I expected. However, by casualizing the game, they're appealing to their audience and Blizzard knows that, else they would not have done it. They could have made it different and sell it to the 100,000+ players that are still playing D2, or they could casualize it, and sell it to the 13,000,000+ other players in their audience. They're in business to make money, not make the hardcore fan base happy, and personally I'm happy to see that. While my wife and I own a very small percentage of our portfolio of Activision Blizzard, it's good to see that money comes before making a small portion of their audience delighted. Do, I think that D3 will still be played in 10 years from now? No, I really don't see that. I see D2 as a fluke, even as fun of a game as it was for it's time, it was a fluke to still be played 10 years later. I think there is a good portion of the players that still play D2 that play it for a couple of reasons... 1. It was a fun game to play 2. They have older computers that won't play the more modern games. 3. They have a limited budget and can't afford to keep buying new games and new hardware to play them. What do I base these statements on? Certainly no hard cold numbered facts, only that ... 1. It WAS a fun game to play, I played it for almost 2 years exclusively. 2. I see a great portion of younger people (i.e. teens and younger) that play the game, usually these people don't have the money for new hardware, unless their parents are buying them newer equipment. 3. Well, this just goes with 2 above. The thing to remember when you read what I wrote here, is that this does NOT by any means, cover all of the 100,000+ players of D2, obviously there are many adults that play, and obviously some of them have the means to play other games and can afford newer hardware. I am just calling it as I see it when I've played D2 over the years and or visited D2 fan sites and read their forums. Way too many times have I read players of D2 asking about whether their hardware will handle D3 and they end up listing hardware that is 5 to 7 years old. That's my take on it. For a long time I thought I would auto-buy diablo 3 but with all the good alternatives coming out that has become a lot less likely.
The merge with activision kind of killed my blizzard love train simply on principle of activision being a horrible company. Also, POE looks amazing and its free. I think I know which way I will swing regardless of when POE is released | |
got the diablo 3 beta and all i can say as a h&s fan
i hate it :) so my hope,s are on path of exile and tortch light 2 :) @dragnar <<< ingame or pm me

i realy hate to repeat my self but i will do... why all of you are making this conclusions about D3? im a D2 fanatic and if D2 had a beta up until Bloodraven you guys would probably had even worse things to say from the ones about D3, and D2 turned out the King of action/rpg's!
PoE is becoming a good game but comparing to D3 it lacks to variety, D3's skills are all look unique between them, just look at some of the WD's skills etc the loot feels so much more complete, in PoE is a bit reapeated. I realy hope GGG to add more content in enemies, in affixes, in loot, in locations (some of them are so huge that becomes boring with no variety in drops & enemies) etc. i will play and support PoE, i have preorder Diablo III and i think GGG has to be faster and even more creative to compete... |
