Is syndicate grossly overtuned?

At lower levels I had no issues with Syndicate content (apart from the odd corpse consuming one).

But now that I'm up to yellow maps I started skipping all Syndicate "castles" I come across in maps. It's just not worth it and nearly impossible to clear them. The guardian mobs are on infinite respawn so if you can't break the doors instantly you might as well just give up.

There should be a finite spawn of mobs guarding the castles. Like it's not even the masters that are the problem since you can't even get to them with all the crap that is constantly respawning. And you can't kill them fast enough to get close to the door again.

These castles are just stupid and much harder than guardians / elder / shaper.
sure is a lot of whinning here. sure most of them are harder then act bosses but it was your choice to not get a working build.

Seems like GGG made the same mistake they did with Incursion: New league mechanic hitting players like a sledgehammer in early levels so they lose interest until they reach maps, and some of them can't be arsed after that point.

I almost died in THE COAST FFS. Which would be a new personal record -- I don't think I even died to Uber Hillock lol.

Yep. That was when I knew the new content was hostile to early play. Did they think we would come out of the gate with 5 links, 30% movement speed boots, etc?

Hoping that as my character progresses this will sort itself out as it did with Incursion.

It’s dangerous to even stop and fight the Syndicate members, their damage is just too bursty and one-shots are common. Good thing I’m leveling with totems; a few times I actually got lazy or foolhardy and paid the price. I’ve died more times in this league than I have for all others.
It seems odd, at least in the leveling process I'm finding the wild Syndicate members to be far more dangerous than actually going into the stronghold to fight the boss. It might have to do with more room to kite and isolate a 1v1 but I would think the opposite should be true... Have not gotten to maps yet but if these mobs are hitting this hard without map mods this league will be interesting.

I'm not that deep into maps yet, but so far it's still the same in maps.

You fight a single syndicate member (plus maybe some assists from other members).

You do not fight him/her with map mods, other mobs in the area or some other stuff going on, it's just her/him.

So yes, it is actually easier than the many fights before.

Not sure this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it certainly does not feel like a "climax". The fights before a way harder.

I've had the same problem and I've come to the solution that it's the minions. Syndicate members on their own are very well-balanced and provide for fun fights.

The minions that they spawn in literal HORDES are not, they deal comparable damage, have much more HP than unusal monsters of the same tier and they respawn with unholy speeds so I can't really clear them out even with a clear-focused build.

The absolute worst are Fortification missions when rare necromancers start appearing. They take ages to kill and do almost as much damage as a syndicate member on their own, even before spawning minions.

Kinda sad that I have to run maps several tiers below my actual ability just because of the syndicate stuff.
Playing as a full summoner build I was zooming through the levels without breaking a sweat, killing bosses within seconds, and never even getting close to hurt. But the Syndicate members... they often one-shotted me and it took ages to kill them.

The worst thing however is that the whole system behind that is not only super confusing, but also compeltely unrewarding. So even if you deal with the members and finally make it into a hideout, you are given a few rare crap items at best and immediately start to ask yourself: Why the hell did you even start with that?

The events need to be tuned down in difficulty by a lot, at least below level 75. Also the whole system needs to be explained to the player and the randomness needs to be reduced, and the reward needs to be increase. Because right now it really doesn't matter what buttons you press, random stuff happens and you get no relevant reward either way, so the most efficient thing to do in this league right now is to ignore the league.
me killing masters to make them stronger is like pressing start to shutdown windows.
