Should Delve Stay?

Neither of the two previous leagues have stayed. Incursion will return in 3 months, but in what form we dont know yet. Legacy league (the most popular league to date) was pulled entirely as being "too complex".

Was integrating Legacy ever even on the table? I seem to recall it was known to be a one-time thing from the very beginning. GGG doesn't want to make access to past league uniques too easy. I also think the popularity of the league was due to the access to those uniques and not because the mechanics were particularly interesting.

legacy was the best thing ever and should've obviously put into core. yet, the thing is that ggg hates standard and making legacy standard would've made loads of people playing that one instead of starting from scratch in their stupid temp leagues. having fun is not allowed in this game. oh and all you people saying delve is the best league ever (lol no, it's not even a league, it's an expansion that should've simply been put into core right away instead of wasting time with this temp league bullshit) are clearly noobs who haven't seen the opportunity to choose whatever league flavours you liked at will!!!
since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good

Delve is nothing less than AMAZING! makes the game so much more fun, it should be core.
Delve should stay, but can you imagine sulphite only appearing in 10% of areas? They need to redesign it greatly to work with core.
I say no.

A lot of people who looked forward to it as an alternative to mapping, which it really is not given the mapping required to sustain deep delving.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the positive feedback has been from players who have not been particularly active for months at a time and are just enjoying the game again more than the actual delving mechanic.

That's not to say I didn't find anything appealing, but the package as a whole just doesn't feel great enough to warrant the extensive work to implement it into core, at least for me.

Infinite dungeon to explore? -- Potential

Having to follow something that restricts my movement location, not so fun.

Spending more time farming extraneous resources instead of actually exploring... no bueno.

A crafting system that feigns superiority but in reality is barely an alternative to chaos rolling....

But ultimately it feels like they took a potentially great idea (infinite dungeon) and marred it with time sinks.
Yep, totally over league play.
So if Delve stays, does this mean Niko stays too? I like him so much and it would heavily depress me if he was suddenly gone.
Maybe they could add something like the shaper strongholds where random maps kn the atlas can spawn sulphite?
personally I'd be fine with it being implemented in core exactly how it is in league. I don't think sulphite deposits are particularly intrusive to regular game play so I don't think any 10% nonsense is necessary.
no, not rly.
if it will stay they should:
-cut xp earned about 50-80%
-less crystals spots and cheaper cart upg's
-allow players to walk only on 1-2 pathroads(location dl more often - some portals/dors between locations) (or again league start will be nightmare)
-change darkness mechanism
-cut down immortal builds/builds for running
-nerf delve crafting (its op like a hell and destroy market)

the fucktrocious temp league shit

Explain, please.

I get that some people don't like temp leagues. But I expect people to be 'smart' enough to see that new leagues/ladders/seasons with new content are needed for player retention - both from a game play perspective and a business perspective. Maybe I expect too much from the human race?

Anyhow, it isn't 'set in stone' that Delve (or any other future league mechanic) will be added into the core game, even if they call it an expansion or not. As we all know, GGG don't care about Standard. So their question will never be; "will this mechanic work in Standard?", but rather; "how will these mechanics work alongside old and new mechanics in the next league?". On top of that, we have 'community feedback'. If the feedback of a league is rather negative, as Bestiary was, the chances of it making its way into the core game would be low.

Personally, I can't see why they wouldn't add Delve into the core game. Yes, they've had some issues with the balancing of Suplphite, mostly because of mass player feedback. But if they take their time and balance it, like Incursion, it would fit the game very well, and is the 'missing link' that a lot of players have wanted for years.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
Yeah is OK.
